For pure shock factor, "Dumlings" from the 1'st 3Extremes, an Asian series. Other good Asian releases; Art of the Devil II, Lady Vengeance, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, A Tale of Two Sisters, infection(just bizzare), Red Shoes, Memento Mori, Koma, Ju-On(1'st one), Phone, Ab-Normal Beauty, Living in Hell & Tomie(for the creepiest theme music ever).

Has anyone seen "Drag me to Hell" ?   It comes out on DVD the end of the month.  The trailer looked scary but I have not seen it.

I haven't seen it. Its on my netflix list. The movie seems to consistantly receive 4 out of 5 rating average. I saw only 1 of each review for rating 1 and 2. a few 3s. Probably ratings by those that do not like the genre, or are sick of it.

OMG, I love scary movies. Something about being scared and grossed out that entertains me lol. I can't wait for the new nightmare on elm street, the original use to scare me all the time.. still does if I am watching it alone. I still get nightmares heh.

The new Nightmare on Elm Street looks great from what I have seen so far. Very much like the original but very different.

I remember when the first NMOEST came out, I was a young teen & I'd never seen anything like it. To me it was a totally new expierience in horror. I was having really vivid dreams of my own & the idea of never knowing what was real & what was not just totally freaked me out, but not nearly as bad as the sound of the knifed glove sliding across those pipes!

I recently saw 1977 movie "The Car" with Jame Brolin. I liked this which surpised me. I especially saw the influence over movies such as "Christine" and "Maximum Overdrive" that it could have had. It seems to have borrowed "Jaws" storyline. I gave it a B (4 out of 5)

The Unborn, I also gave a B (4 out of 5). It was good.

2 nice humorous horror movies are "Fido" and "Otis". They had me laughing.

A recommendation for Drag Me to Hell.  Maybe not to buy, but definitely worth a rental.

I just saw "Inside" earlier this week, very disturbing.  It's in French with English subtitles.  I'm not convinced about the Elm Street remake.  Robert Englund is too good as Freddy for someone else to do it.

I refuse to watch this movie because I love the old one and the commercials have nowhere as close to the same "feel" as the original.

Anyway, I love me some horror movies.  Well, good ones, though I'm prone to watching bad ones, too.  I saw "Paranormal Activity" yesterday afternoon, the original ending.  I screamed at the end.  Twice.  I loved it!  It was one of the better new horror films out there. Though I'm a fan of older ones...like "An American Werewolf in London" or "The Exorcist".  "Drag Me to Hell" was decent, I also screamed in it.  I scream a lot, though.  I screamed watching "The Grudge", "Silver Bullet", etc.  Hell, I even screamed watching this non-scary "horror" film because my sister went up behind me and grabbed me.  I screamed for about a minute straight that time, though not as long as I screamed when she hid in my closet after watching "The Grudge" and opened the door slowly, after I was laying in bed with the lights off.

Anyway, I love horror films!  They're my favorite type of film!

Wish I had tried that to my sister, she was terrified of horror movies (so am I).  I think I would have been cleaning the poo off the bed for weeks

Thanks for the post, I enjoyed it  :-*

Well, it's a remake, what do you expect?? The idea of remakes is repulsive. (but I never was a fan of the original Nightmare On Elm St. anyways :icon_blah:) As long as people keep supporting these LOUSY remakes the studios will keep pumping them out.

Though, sometimes, the remakes can be O.K.  Granted, I've only seen about one that was O.K.  This is why I watch foreign horror films. XD  They're still scary and I haven't seen many remakes.

I just recently watched Trick or Treat and I'm curious as to why I never heard about this movie when it came out!  It's pretty awesome.  Also, Candyman is still the scariest horror movie to me.
If curiosity really killed the cat, I'd already be dead.

Trick or Treat was a direct to video I believe. First time I saw the commercial was on the 300 DVD. It was delayed one year release I believe.

Good movie.

I just watched Triangle on instant netflix, which was a decent multi time frame movie, slightly scary.
Pandorum another instant netflix sorta Alien like.
Paranormal Activity, Blair Witch like.
Jennifer's Body, skin vamp flick sorta.
The Wolfman, I kept falling asleep during.
The Descent 2, more of the first movie, but not quite the punch.
Wasn't impressed with the Crazies, been there done it, and Possession, forgetable.
