My nose is already a bit bigger/wider and my jaw squarer. 3.5 months on T, age 47!

My nose has defiantly gotten wider, I used to have  a tiny little nose however its now much wider than before.

But like other people say its got nothing to do with the cartilage changing just the fat.

Testosterone causes irreversible bone thickening (and yes, bones can thicken at any age.)

Any pre-male puberty mtf will not have a feminine nose because of estrogen feminizing the face. It's testosterone not dramatically masculinizing it.

Sorry, if it bothers you you've gotta get rhinoplasty.

I have the same issue. I think it involves circulation and such. My plastic surgeon told me that certain lasers with a green light emition, I believe, can be used on the nose to lessen this reddening of the outer layers of the skin. HRT won't change anything, and especially not your nose form. I think some people's expectations board on the realms of fantasy and I blame journels and people who write about this stuff.

T does widen and enlarge your nose. But making your nose smaller, nope estrogen apparently doesn't do that.

Well yeah but there's a difference between asserting a subjective opinion as fact and pointing out a biological reality.  Don'tcha think you were perhaps just a teeny, weeny bit aggressive?

Personally I don't think I was, I can be 'aggressive', my post, wasn't (to me, so sorry) I do think it was firm though, I call it tough love. Maybe if I took out the STFU or put a after it it would sound 'nicer'. BUT anyway.
This is 'nice' though, if someone thinks you are aggressive then the point you are making is overshadowed by it. So what is worse me using a STFU without a happy emoticon or someone going around on several threads posting multiple negative posts trying to deflate everyone else's opinions. We'll leave that to subjective opinion.

I understand and take on board what you are saying Shannon but so many TG forums mask the reality and limitations of HRT and can miss inform people of what can and can't be achieved. I've been in transition for well over a decade and have a lot of experience and have met a lot of TG people over the years. I have seen the limitations of 'transition' over and and over again but so many people choose to not face up to it. It is true to say my expectations haven't been met but my expectations are probably much higher than most who frequent these forums.

I don't know about several threads and multiple posts - not because it is or is not true, simply because I am unable to read every concurrent active thread.  All I have is the context of this one, which is where we agree completely on the subjectivity point   No big deal...let's forget it! Peace!

Yeah I agree that a lot of online information is of a positive nature and it can be hard to find a balance (of course like anything online you get the answers you actually go searching for). In a forum like this people like it and enjoy it, hearing of positive stories. There are a lot of questioning people out there reading these pages and some can be easily put off. And also those that are insecure and need the reassurance. Not saying that expressing a bad experience is wrong or shouldn't be done, subjective truth is healthy. Just not in the way that it is made to look like the only out come of all transitioning, that was my beef!

I've personally been hoping T will give me a Karl Malden nose. But I don't think I'll be that lucky, it's looking like I'll just get a slightly larger, wider version of my own nose. Oh well.

Unless your pregnant no it wont. Some pregnant women's noses end up flattening out a little due to large amounts of hormones raging in their system.
