A while ago, I was participating in a thread about same sex marriage.  There was a statement made that gays and lesbians already have most of the benefits so why should they be allowed to marry.  Well, I finally came across this:

Here is a Government Accounting Office document detailing the 1138 statutory rights and privileges denied to lesbians and gays because same sex marriage is federally banned by DOMA.
