Dear all Androgynes,

I just wanted to say thank you for being nice to me and helping me out and actually talking to me.  I hope it's not a problem that I made a thread just to say this.  I didn't know where else to put it.

I feel human now, like I have a purpose.  I'm serious.  You guys welcomed me warmly and you're all so nice.  I got a lump in my throat (I think that's the female trying to pop out lol) just talking about it because as I'm sure you all know from experience - the hate, rejection, feeling unloved or un-needed - it can really get to you.  That is my purpose for this thread.  To give thanks to those who are like me (I'm so happy that I met some people like myself).

I think it is neat finding a group of people that 'get' you. It is a huge relief to not be so alone anymore.

YES it's good!  And I think that meeting you all has been a blessing because you all respect me and treat me well.  It was so sad when my aunt called crying on the phone saying she seen a t.v. program about transgendered people and she didn't understand how hard it was on TG/TS people.  She called while I was in bed recovering from a surgery.  Previous to the phone call and surgery, my aunt had her and her sister, her husband, my cousin and a couple other family members and they took me out to a park in at the lake and set me down telling me that God doesn't make mistakes and that basically they would disown me as a family member.  After the talk, we all went out to eat.  I didn't bring any money to eat on and they refused to pay for me a dinner.  Not even a drink.  I'm sure that others go through worse things than that but it hurt so bad for a long time.  But now they know the truth and they apologized saying they didn't realize what mental pain i was in dealing with this.
I think it was a huge step for them and it was brave to apologize.

They've come a long way in their thinking. How nice for you.

Yes definitely. 

I've met some other people like me whose parents throw them out once they find out what's going on with their child.  It makes me sad for them.  I have a gay friend whose mother treats him like dirt - and he's 40-something so his mother must be at least near her 70's I guess, not sure.  My friend's name is Jay.  He often gets frustrated in life, mostly because he can't get a job nor keep a boyfriend.  His background is what throws him off for getting a job.  For his privacy I think I'll keep his background to myself... but it involves getting arrested.  He's often suicidal too.

Anyway I'm slowly getting off topic here lol  I'm just glad that my aunt saw the show on t.v. and realized that what I was going through was tougher than she thought.  Especially with surgeries and dealing with hormones every two weeks.  Plus not long ago, that same aunt of mine had a hysterectomy and she was in a lot of pain when we seen her at the Christmas family get together.  I've had the hyst too.  I've also had a large hernia.  They used a patch for the hernia.  Out of the two surgeries, the one that is most painful is the hernia one. Ouchie!

Thats one of the reasons i went on t v & in the papers here in n z .. may 07....that opened many doors .
