Haha OK well then that's it no more mystery for me, that's how I am though.

And I was not an Olympic athlete, I was training for the olympics and won nationals a couple of times, got into the world cup finals (top 10 in the world each year) but it takes a lot more money and political clout backing a person than I had to go to the Olympics. It was saddening to learn things work this way, but wow they sure do. Some athletes as good as me and better also didn't get to go, in the smaller sports like pistol shooting that's the way it's run. Now in something like swimming, if you have a talent like Michael Phelps, AND said kid has a powerful father (politically and financially) OR the kid finds a coach with said powers, he's gonna go. And the US does a decent job of producing medals in the larger sports like swimming and running and boxing. If the kid's good but his Dad is poor, some coach/boxing afictionado will pick the kid up, then a richer one will will take on the kid, then one of the major powers in olympic boxing will ..... it's kinda like playing football or basketball. If you're on a team that treats you like dirt, but a good player, some other team will offer to take you. And you go. But in something like olympic pistol, there's ONE team, and unless I wanted to defect to another country, that's it. And those with money and clout go. And then they get 15th or 23rd or 42nd ...... and the US continues to not win Olympic medals in pistol.
