TUCKED away in Brewery Street is a Dumfries-based charity that is helping to save people's lives.

LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Youth Scotland has been operating in Dumfries and Galloway for almost three years and has over 300 members on their books.

The charity helps sexual minorities across the region by offering advice, support and a place to meet others dealing with the same issues.

The Dumfries branch has been shortlisted for a national award for their efforts and successes.
