Transgender male on ladies bowls team

QUEENSLAND'S first transsexual bowler has been accepted as a full playing member of the conservative Edge Hill Ladies Bowls Club in Cairns.

Robyn Stott is going through the process of changing from a man to a woman and has been recognised as a lady bowler by both the female and male bowlers at the club.

Bowls Queensland believes Ms Stott is the only transgender lady bowler in the state.

Club members have no qualms about the IT computer expert playing for the ladies and they treat the 36-year-old as "one of the girls".

I know her! Well... shes goes in the chatroom I do... shes quite a nice person.

Glad to see some good news.
Also glad that she was accepted.  It seems the news always focuses on the negative.  Sometimes we need feel good stories.  Although not extremely light hearted - this one did the job for me.

Very good story.  I wonder how heavy her ball is.

The title is so discriminatory however.  And some of the pictures still refer to her as a transgendered Male.

@ Kristi.  But the pictures it isn't American bowling.  More like lawn bowling.

its actual lawn bowls... rather than 10 pin... 

I saw the references as 'transgender male' and so did Robyn, she said shes not too bothered by it because the girls in the club and pretty much all people dont say that... shes just one of the girls to them.

There's also a TV spot coming up with her tomorrow (its shot)

The headline seems to have been changed since this link was posted. Now she's being called a transgender female.

i guess they just didnt know the term huh? people make these mistakes when uneducated... clearly that happened.
