Yeah, the way I look at it is that it is your body and you should have the freedom to do with it what you want without fear of retribution.  After all, it's you who has to live in it.

Aw, thanks, Melissa :D I bet a lot of ts people feel like that about the opposite ts people though :)  Sometimes when I look at guys I find myself thinking things like "My god, do they even know how lucky they are?  They take that body for granted!"  I think they're like, mystical and amazing somehow, I guess because I wasn't born with it...  I often have to remind myself that male to females feel mostly the same way I do, even though I keep thinking to myself "How can they throw that away?"

Lately I'm feeling quite confident of how I'll look as a guy though... I'm working hard at preparing for it so I have the best frame to work from :D

Hi Mikko....

Your photo looks great, hair cut looks good and your face shuld change on T. Your Adams apple will be a good gender marker as you have a smooth neck. The picture of the girl is very nice, but get some muscle mass on and you will be a great guy.

I have some photos of myself as a guy and me (now) as Rebecca. I have put them side by side and also have the X-Rays from the FFS work next to each other to show people the changes. Peoples reactions are mostly "You was a good looking guy", which is not what I personally want to hear, BUT ask the girls, they will look at the guy and the guys just look at the guy and don't understand why on earth I ever wanted to be a woman.

One of the worst thing about being TS for me was the jealousy... I always wanted what I never had, I always envied women, their lives, their bodies, yep even their periods, their freedom in wearing clothes and make up..

I can understand why FTM's want to be guys. (apart from the physical things)... there are many advantages and it is STILL a man's world.Men take this for granted and don't actually realize how lucky they are. Having lived as a woman for 6 years now, I can see that more than ever.

Yeah Rebecca, that is a side effect of being male, the male privilege you get. Especially as a white, professional man I see it. I don't think any woman who was comfortable in her body would transition just for that though. But it sure made it easy for me (and transition for me is been ridiculously easy).

But it is harder going the other way, because women are not treated equally in north american society and giving up what shreds of privilege you have for being seen as male and also taking on the stigma as trans is a pretty rough road in some places.

And Nonie, you are hawt in both the male and female pics. Whether you wind up transitioning or finding an alternative that works for you, you'll be fine, looks-wise.

Thanks, Dennis :)  My SO took me shopping for boy clothes and has advised me to cut my hair shorter...  Here I thought he said he needed to ease into it and now he's giving me passing tips :)  But his advice is good!  I'll post another pic after I finish my workout.

Mikko;

I took your 'too dark' picture and photoshopped it, lightening everything but the window (which is what threw the camera off, by the way.)  For the most part, you're home free, dude!  HRT will get you the rest of the way with your face, adding whiskers and coarsening the skin a bit.  From the picture you don't need top-surgery (lucky dude!)

PM me an e-mail address and I'll send you the picture!

Karen

PS RE: the 'female' picture --  If they ever perfect brain transplants, c'n we swap?.... :D  :D  :D

I would have offered, but my body probably looks too female for his tastes. ;)  I thought somebody else not as far in transition might be better.
