Hello all :P

I happened upon this site while searching for support for Muslim Transsexuals. I am a male to female transsexual, and I've "finished" transitioning. I had my GRS in August this year :D, and have been living full time for about two years now. I am at peace with myself, but I am still struggling with issues regarding my choice of religion. I have yet to convert fully to Islam, but I have every intention to do so. I have been told by friends that I will be accepted into the religion since my "sins" were before my converting and will be accepted as a woman and expected to follow the appropriate customs; which I guess is great for me, but I feel awful for my sisters and brothers who are forced to deal with transition while maintaining their religion. I hope to gain support from others who can relate; and offer support when I am able to those who need it.

Best wishes and I look forward to chatting :D

Hi Alice, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 3500 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

And be sure to check out

Blessed Be.

hi Alice and welcome to the site :)
I saw an interesting documentary about transexuals in Iran. Apparently Iran has the second highest rate of gender reassignment after Thailand and transexuals are accepted and have full rights after transition. However, the issue that came up was that because homosexuality is seen as an 'abomination', many gays and lesbians are choosing to transition so that their relationship can become 'heterosexual' in the eyes of the law and therefore acceptable. A number of the people interviewed said they would not have GRS if society would accept them as homosexual. I don't know what it's like in other Muslim cultures but I found the whole anti-homosexual/pro-transexual dynamic interesting. I guess at the end of the day it's about upholding the strict gender binary system at any cost.
