When I dress, I notice that my personality actually changes.  Or when I'm shopping for women's clothes for that matter.  Has anybody else ever experienced like... a notable and immediate shift in their thoughts, mannerisms, and whatnot in their true form vs the form everybody else expects?

Yes dear. You are not alone. I don't think it is a split personality. Maybe the same personality with a different outlook on life. I find myself more calm and compassionate while enfemme. Also it has affected my sexuality after years of being my true self. I am attracted to real gentlemen now. Not macho guys. I adore other CDs or Tgirls also.

I notice that I'm happier. I feel free to be myself rather than internalizing to fit the norms of expected behavior.

I did need to learn to be a bit more lady like though

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

Yeah.  For example, most "metal" or "punk rock" fashions that are currently in style for girls, as a guy I think "F***in' poser kids," but as a girl I'm like "Cute!" or "Oh mah god, pink skulls!"  And in front of a mirror... total camwhore.  As a guy I won't even look in a mirror, not because I'm disgusted by myself but like... as a guy I'm hotter when I don't try :P.  It is like I'm the same person, only different.

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

I've experienced that too.  I often wondered if other people did that too, and today I found the answer!  wow :)  You're not the only one I see from this thread.  :)  But yup I embarassed myself by the conversations i have with my conscience sometimes.  He usually wins lol

OH YES.

There are times when I'll catch myself with the girliest thoughts..."aww, that dog is so cute" and so forth. This especially comes out around old friends or family members who have always known me as a female or when I have to present as such for a family get-together.

Then there are times when I feel definitively male. Not just transitioning to it, not just in the normal sense I feel male like usual...but guy in every way shape and form, ignoring everything wrong with my body. Earlier tonight I went out for a run in the pouring rain and had a moment like that, jamming out to my ipod...I was out there hooting and hollaring and singing at the top of my lungs poorly like a drunken idiot. It felt so good. Came in drenched to the bone and wired with adrenaline and euphoric at how masculine I feel right now...I didn't even notice the chesticles were still attached, its like my brain withdrew from their existence.

That said, my neighbors probably didn't appreciate this at 1AM.
