Quote from: Myself on November 15, 2009, 12:54:25 PMNot sure how you're reading this O_o it looks more like half-half to me which points at average.

Splitting the poll around the 5'4-5'7 part could help a bit.

I do believe the average grew a bit though and is more like 5'5-5'5.5

Well since most are in 5'4"-5'7" group that's a little above.

I'm 5'2", the same height as my mom, my dad isn't that much taller, no one in my family is very tall. Since getting out of high school though it bothers me less. There are plenty of biomales who are much shorter than me.

Yep, my doctor was the one who told me and he's known me since I was a tyke. I didn't stop growing at 16.
Nice. So there's hope for some of us who are younger, and still shortish.

22 and 5'5.5". Yeah, I think I'm done growing
I really don't mind though; I think I'd be stuck in kid's clothing anyway. At least this way all the pants I get don't look like highwaters.

5'4" is an annoying height...not just for pants, but more for shirts. Half the ones I get in mens look like I'm drowning in them, and the boys ones look too short or too wide. I'm doomed. Don't they have shirts for really short but scrawny guys?! Seems if I want length on the boys I have to wear 2X.

You know, no matter how tall we are, we "fit" our families.
Before I came out I was considered "the tallest female".

Now I'm "the shortest male" out of the whole of the living members of four generations of blood relatives. That means I'm shorter than my granddad. Shorter than my father and his brothers. Shorter than my mother's brothers. Shorter than My brothers. And shorter than my nephews (the grown ones).

Even at 6'2, you can be "the shortest guy in the room", and I frequently am.

'cept here ofcourse...

5'5.  I do wish I was taller, but I'd only wanna be 5'7 - 5'8.  I like being short, but at 5'5 I'm shorter than a lot of girls too which I don't really like.  But it doesn't bother me much.

Chris the Wookie Slayer - go with XS adult men sizes.  I've found that they actually work for our height really well.  They fit and don't look baggy

5'2" here.  :(  Luckily those of 'my' country (Chile) are generally rather short, so I fit in around the dudes and the chicks.  I actually have a guy friend there who's an inch or two shorter than me and EVERYONE respects him cos he's insanely strong for his size and completely unafraid to throw someone outweighing him by 45 kilos across the yard, lol.

Anyways, my midget-ness does bother me a lot cos my boyfriend is exactly a foot taller than me, and all but one of my guy friends are 6-10" taller than me.  The exception is only a few inches taller, but his masculinity makes me feel sooo insecure about my own.  I mean, he's got the hugest hands I've ever seen, and awesome facial hair to boot!  Grrr... I gotta wait until I can afford T to grow a beard...   >:(

5'4" - about the same height as the guys who were in the Small Faces (I'm obsessed with their old promo videos lately).  Rock and roll is a great way to feel good about being a short, femmey-looking guy.

Anyway, a lot of bio guys in general are the same height as me.  When I think about it, one advantage of having been raised female is that I was never bullied for being a short guy.

One way to go about it is to go to thrift stores and look in all the sections with an open mind.  You never know what you'll find where that might look good and fit you.

I've gotten a lot of my favorite t-shirts from the "Boys" sections of thrift stores.  I buy my pants from the women's section of Urban Outfitters because a lot of them are in men's sizes and have a unisex look about them.

And almost anything can be shrunk in hot water and / or re-stitched to fit better (this is one area where my female up-bringing comes in handy).

I'm 5'8" and I usually dont mind it.  The only time it bothers me at all is in some of my classes at school. I go to one on the biggest universities in the US and I'm in a lot of classes with the football and basketball players and they are huge....6'5" to almost 7' so i feel tiny around them. Other than that i dont really mind being 5'8" because in the general population i dont really feel that short.  Also, i have played basketball all my life and noticed that most girls i played against that were 5'10"+ usually had more feminine qualities about their figures, wider hips and a larger chest, things like that. So i would rather be 5'8" and not have to worry about that stuff.

I'm 5'5... Sometimes seems more like 5'6. My father is 5'10 and my mother would be 5'7 if her spine wasn't so curved.  My father was extremely short into his 20s and must have gone through a growth spurt later.  Seeing as I'm shorter than both of my parents, who had parents who were taller than me, I think I might just be in for a late growth spurt.  I hope my plates haven't closed... Like many guys here, I really do wish I were taller.  I want to be at least 5'8 or 5'9.  5'10 would be a dream come true but very much impossible.

I'm 5'8 and I love it. I'm not finished growing yet, though, so I'll probably end up at 5'9.

I'm 5'4" as well.  I actually don't have that hard of a time finding clothes--medium T's and 30/32x30 jeans are just right.  Chris, try hitting stores like A&F, H&M, or any sort of 'trendy youth store' for clothes.  I've noticed that they tend to carry shirts that are 'slim cut' and not nearly as boxy as shirts found at stores like Wal-Mart.  And of course there's always T & weightlifting for gaining some upper body mass--that should help with the shirt thing, too.

I'm considering moving to Europe where they regularly stock XS sizes, and everyone is a little smaller in general.  I might fit in then.  ;)
