    Richard Selwach, who is running for mayor against Lowe, spoke at Thursday's commission meeting recommending an amendment to Gainesville's ordinance that would require people who felt they qualified under the "gender identity" definition to have to register with the city.

Great. This reminds me of Marvel's X-Men comic books, where the mutants had to register with the government as mutants.

So, in this real world application of registering American citizens, would African-Americans need to register with the city as African-Americans? Gays and lesbians as gays or lesbians? Disabled people as disabled? Christians as Christians? Etcetera, etcetera?

Where's Magneto when you need him? 

I thought everyone had a gender identity of some kind. Would everyone have to register?
