I have been listening to some tracks by Emilie Autumn for a little over a year, maybe two. Recently was able to actually catch her in concert and she and her girls put on one hell of a show. She shreds on the electric violin, climbs all over the set, and is popular enough to play at some of the larger clubs but not at the huge stadiums. Funny, quirky, many changes in clothes, and a stage act that is just as much of a play as it is a concert but stopping just short of being a musical.

I was supposed to go see her when she came to Atlanta, but, my ride bailed on me :[[ I was super sad. She's an amazing artist.

Yes, was able to see her live. She is an excellent performer who truly appreciates her fans. One set of fans in the crowd presented her with an Emilie doll and a poster and she actually had to sit down and told everyone how awesome they are. There were quite a few of almost personal moments during the concert and when combined with them coming into the crowd a few times and pulling others onto the stage, you felt like you were a part of the show. it was pretty damn awesome. If I had the time I would have followed to another state just to go watch it all again.

Ali, sorry to hear that your ride bailed on you. I hope you beat them up.

One other group that I found to be pretty awesome was The Cruxshadows who actually hung out with fans after the concert and chatted quite a bit. Not to mention that Rogue loves coming out into the audience while singing.

She is doing OK, she is playing the 9:30 in DC, but she is not hitting the West Coast yet.  I like how she sells her own VIP deal.  Cha-Ching.

Necro bump...

I didn't see another topic devoted to her so I thought I'd just bump this one instead of making a new one...  I hope that's OK!  Doing a search for her name revealed only about a dozen posts spanning the last 6+ years and that's it, so here goes.

I've been listening to my Emilie Autumn music collection these past few days and felt a need to interject my feelings and pose a question to all of you.

About a year and a half ago I attended her most recent concert tour, the Fight Like a Girl tour, and it was such a magnificent experience!  Afterward I had an emotional outpouring on the trip home.  I realized that I'd been keeping a lid on who I was and what I wanted out of life, NEEDED out of life for years.  It randomly bubbles over every few years, but that was the most recent one.  And like always, shortly thereafter, I put that lid back on and went back to being who I thought the world wanted me to be.  The nerdy IT guy working day in and day out just to wake up and do it all over again with no heartfelt ambition for life.

But anyways, who here has heard of, listens to, relishes, attended a concert for, and/or otherwise adores Emilie and her musical entourage as the fount of trans-expression that I see it as?  I just can't convey enough how much I adore her work.  Not sure that she saw that angle when composing it all, but it sure seems fitting, to me at least.

OK, well if you've never listened to her music, I recommend doing so.  You can find a full "official" video of her Fight Like a Girl Tour on Youtube I believe.  And she's got a full-fledged music video for a song of the same name.  That tour was essentially a rock opera musical concert.  The whole thing tells a somewhat disjointed story from beginning to end.  Lots of stage presentation, costumes and theatrics, not just music and dancing like Britney or something.

Additionally, her Opheliac album is excellent, the whole thing.  And if you like classical music and rock music with no vocals, then I recommend her Laced/Unlaced double album.  Some truly talented violin shredding.  An electric violin, who'da thunk it?

I agree with you Tristan. I've seen them live three times now and that experience is just amazing.
