Hardliner Zul Noordin backs transsexual Fatine to return

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 — Britain-based Malaysian hermaphrodite Fatine, who is facing a possibility of criminal prosecution if she returns here has received support from an unlikely source — PKR Kulim parliamentarian Zulkifli Noordin, a staunch conservative Muslim who has openly declared he puts his faith above all else.

Zulkifli, often chastised for his "hard-line Islamic views", said it was wrong for immigration authorities to accused Fatine "of bringing shame" to the country and threatened legal action against her.

"There is no issue here. If its verified that Fatine is a khunsar (hermaphrodite), the Syariah recognises the three categories of sex clearly," he told The Malaysian Insider in Parliament.
