I went out for a new wig yesterday, I was semi dressed (loafers, blouse, chinos), I always wear gold ball posts in my ears unless I swap them out for something larger before going out. I had a  4MM & 3MM in each ear.
After I've found the right wig, and fussed with it a bit I'm chatting with the very nice asian saleslady
she says If you're interested we have a large selection of clip on earrings
I say Well - I sort of have pierced ears?
She says - Oh, I kind of figured you boys prefer clip ons when you were dressing like a girl

BTW - If you're around Long Island Wig Land in Amityville has a really nice selection at moderate prices and a nice if somewhat confused owner.

I have been growing out my hair for 6 months now and really wish to have my own hair, but I went and got a new wig a month ago.  As I was chatting with the saleslady, I removed the one I had on and explained the problem that I was having.  Without batting an eye she looked over my very balding area and said, "Just let it grow out for a year and then we can take a wig and cut it down to blend in."  We went on to select an new one.  She was pointing out several and we decided on one that was prefect. ( The one in my avatar ).  My friend thought it would be fun to try on several and I pointed to one that was really long and "drag queenish".  The sales lady said she carries that one for the cross dressers and never sells it to women.  I looked at my friend and she winked, as to say she has no idea about you.  All I did was smile.

Yes. Sales women here (S. Korea) are usually very kind to me. Even if they recognize me as a man, they still try to show me new brands of lipstick and foundations, and etc.

Those sales women tend to be very helpful for m2f crossdressers, offering nice advice on fashion and beauty. I have been always satisfied with cosmetic items they recommend for me. They know far better than me.

One of my female colleagues once wanted to give me a gift after an international trip, asking me what kind of souvenir I want. I said I really wish clip on earrings as my ears are not fierced. Finally, she failed to find ones for me, even after searching for several department stores here. Instead, she gave me some cosmetics including a lipstick that can be hung in the cellular phone.

Actually got Ma'amed at the weekend for the first time.   I know I am no where near passable (I no longer care if I am outed) and she wasprobably only being polite but it made my day.  I will be passable I will !!!!!!!!!!!! (starts sticking tongue out, stomping feet and pulling hair!)

I think you are passable, Pippa.  Except for the short hair cut.  But once it is grown out some you should be fine.

Thanks for the comment about passing.   I know I have a long way to go and longer hair is going to help greatly.   It is just taking forever to grow out.  I go for a trim every eight weeks or so as I have heard this helps hair grow out (and I have to keep it relatively tidy for work).   I also know that, in no particular order, I need to lose about another stone, I could do with getting my teeth fixed (next on the list) and I could do with getting my nose fixed. I   broke it when being forced to play rugby at school (for those of you in the US imagine football but without the pads and helmets).   I suppose I am at the stage where, when I look in the mirror sometimes I am happy with what I see and other times all I see is the old male me looking back.   On good days, I look in the mirror and see my Mum staring back, a might disconcerting at times.

The hormones are working, although growth pains are only occasional at the moment.   

My obsession with high heels also doesn't help as a good pair (about 3 inches in height) take me to about six feet.

Yes. Many people here wonder why I do not pierce my ears. Strangely, I am not so much interested in earrings, although I sometimes find women can look sexy with earring. I am more attached to bangles and ribbons. Most women here get their ears pierced, and that is why it is difficult to find clip-on earrings here. I wish I can get a pair of big clip on earrings when visiting the US next year (where?)

Almost any shopping mall in the states will have a "Clares" or "Icing" shop, they're owned by the same company.  Icing tends to be a bit more of an adult shop, Clares is sort of teen oriented, but either one will carry clip ons.
As a fun thing they also carry magnetic earrings which look for all the world like tiny pierced studs when they're in place

Yeah, but the range of clip-on stuff is very small, most people in the US who are going to wear such things have pierced ears, no doubt about it.

It is great to go wig shopping because the sales ladies are so very friendly and supportive. Earrings: I can't wear clipons because they are painfull after a few hours. My ears were pierced so long ago I've forgotten when I did it. Is memory loss a sign of menopause or maybe I am becoming a bimbo from wearing a blonde wig.
