So I just had a bowl of cereal, and I turned down the temp on my fridge last night cause the freezer wasn't freezing completely (just bought it brand new), and when I turned it down one notch, the milk froze partially in the fridge >< I just pour some in my cereal and I was crap lol, and I figured it'd be ok, it just melted a little and I ate the cereal, the milk tasted fine and looked fine too, so I think I'll be fine. I went reading and it sounds like normally it is safe. I just didn't shake the milk up like I heard you should do, but I'm not really worried.....you think it is prolly fine?

Yep, you'll be OK. We've had it happen a few times here at the apartment when we were figuring out the new fridge. Froze 1/2 gallon solid once (oops!)  We just let it thaw on the door of the fridge and gave it a good shake to recombine the water and milk solids and it was just fine.

I use to freeze milk all the time, when you could get it on special, and then use it for baking.  It does taste the same, but it is fine.

In eastern Canada(and some other countries, I believe India), you have the option of buying bagged milk, and some people will freeze it to preserve it because they might stock up on it, like Janet said, I suppose it could be done with cartons or jugs too. It's perfectly fine.
