So, I've been plagued with lack of sleep lately because of issues with who I am, telling my parents, keeping it a secret from them.  So, the other morning, after being unable to sleep the entire night, I drove over to my parent's house.  I didn't know what to expect, I mean, I didn't tell them everything.  I told the essentially that I don't feel like I'm a guy, and that I have GID.

Well, I almost cried, they told me no matter what they would always love me.  It's more than I could have ever hoped for.  My mom told me she might disaprove of some decisions I've made in the past, lol, but she reassured me it was because she's my mom, and she loves me.

I can't express how happy i am now.

Well it's good that your parents still love you no matter what. Parents aren't all the same, and it's good you've got some supportive ones.

Having that support can help a great deal. I'm glad you got the response you did, even if it wasn't absolutely everything.
Don't be scared to fly alone, find a path that is your own
Love will open every door it's in your hands, the world is yours
Don't hold back and always know, all the answers will unfold
What are you waiting for, spread your wings and soar

Thats a great response. I'm happy for you :)

So you didn't tell them everything? Maybe now you've told them you'll be able to tell them the rest. Sure will make it easier anyway.

Well, we're probably going to see a councilor together, as well as sit down and talk with my second mom (a really good friend of mine whom I'm living with atm) who knows the whole story.  I don't know how they'll take the rest, but it is a good start.

THat's great! I pray that they stay thinking that way.

My parents acted that way when I first told them too.....but after a few weeks of talking to others about it, they changed their mind and now have disowned me =/

Its wonderfull to hear that your parents are so supportive.

Jerica I am sorry to hear that your parents have listended to others and not followed their hearts as they did when you first came out to them. Hopefully in time they will come back to you.
