Dudes sit around and quote Goodfellas at each other, girls quote The Princess Bride.  Rarely the other way 'round.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I hear The Princess Bride quotes all the time passed between dudes.
Don't be scared to fly alone, find a path that is your own
Love will open every door it's in your hands, the world is yours
Don't hold back and always know, all the answers will unfold
What are you waiting for, spread your wings and soar

The Princess Bride is more of a dork flick. I know it's a fun show but quoting it by either gender is just meh. I love you all but it's true, you may as well put on Spock ears and wear a light sword.

If that's your crowd then go for it, they aren't really a judgmental bunch.

Well I guess I hang with the (virtual) dorks then because we quote it a lot, of course we quote all kinds of films a lot, and we are (almost) all Trek fans...

but I don't necessarily concede that being quick with a pop-culture reference rejoinder makes you a dork though.

The quote could just as easily be from Star Wars, Star Trek, TPB, the Untouchables, or Loony Tunes.

the reason I suggested it as a possible chick flick is because it ultimately revolves around a sugary love story. the fact that it has more sly humor than your usual tear-jerker might make it something other than your run of the mill chick-flick but then that's why I love it.

another one I love that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is "An Officer and a Gentleman"

Ahem.

I believe the proper term is "geek"

Lets see... Sleepless in Seattle, Beaches... the list goes on.

I cry still when I see any of them.

Janet, it seems our tastes are very similar  ;)

And most important of all, we can't forget the classics like... (drum roll)

Breakfast at Tyfanny's and Casablanca!

I get all gooey just thinking about them,

Most definitely.  I love Audery's dress in 'Breakfast'.

Also West Side Story.
And Grease, but only because Travolta was Hot in it.

In my circles Princess bride was heavily quoted by both men and woman. If fact the new young guy here at work got hammered on when the group found he had never seen the princess bride. Why? Cause they were quoting it and he didn't understand the references.
If I had a penny for my thoughts, I'd be a millionaire.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
That the difference between me and the rest of the world! Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!

LOL, most of my guy friends haven't even seen Goodfellas, and I think The Princess Bride gets quoted about as often as The Big Lebowski among my guy friends (that's a lot, but not as much as Glee or Monty Python).

Then again, I might just have weird guy friends.
Ill no longer be defined by my condition. From now on, I'm just, Kate.

Nero

Girl interrupted. - Maybe because of Angelina Jolie's performance, maybe because I was in a similar situation at 14, or maybe just because I love Angelina Jolie.

Anne of Green Gables 1 and 2 (3 wasn't so great) - love the books, love Anne, love Megan Follows as Anne.

Titanic - who doesn't love it?

Selena - J Lo was so hot back then, and the music is good too.

Anything on Lifetime with Tiffani-Amber Thiessen getting ravished, killed, etc.

Nero was the Forum Admin here at Susan's Place for several years up to the time of his death.

Ok let's see

Pretty Woman
Bridget Jones (all three)
The Lake House
Before Sunrise & Before Sunset
Breakfast at Tifany's
and does "Room with a View" count?
I could go on... Basically if it's a chick flick and emotional I like it.

PS - yes I think both Brokeback and Transamerica count too!
