I was talking to some people online.  2 of these individuals are Bowers girls like me & they're planning to undergo a labiaplasty with a different surgeon   Sorta weird since Marci performs the one stage procedure unlike many other US surgeons.  I was wondering if anybody else (looks at the Bowers girls on this board) had heard anything like this??

My surgery was done by Dr. Biber in 1974 so it is a bit primitive. I considered having a revision done but decided against it. The sensitivity is GREAT, everything functions properly, and anyone who gets close enough to have a good look is already going to know about my childhood so I decided not to risk loosing the sensitivity. I am not going to do porn movies so I'd rather be (remain) orgasmic

I took 25 years though But i'm thinking about going for a minor revision for part medical and part cosmetic reasons soemtime after xmas. Like Jane I'm pretty sensitive and wish to remain so, so I will have to check that this won't spoil that, but I'll let you know how things go.

Yes I needed it, I considered it at the time and had it done, it put the finishing touch to my new womanhood, absolutely no regrets and any guy who has been lucky to have been there had absolutely no complaints.

I haven't.  Dr. Bowers was my surgeon too & I couldn't be happier with my results.  Maybe their surgery didn't go as expected & they need a revision?  Did they day why they were considering a labiaplasty?

I had considered it after my GRS (McGinn).  The doctor recommended waiting at least six months after the initial procedure before having any additional surgery.

It's been over 18 months since I have had my surgery and I, and my partner, are completely satisfied with the results (read ecstatic).  During one of my post operative checkups, my regular physician remarked how natural I looked (I would think that he has had enough exposure to tell).

For myself, I have dropped the idea for a labiaplasty as being too vain, expensive and uncomfortable.  I have achieved the external body image that has been in my mind since I was a little girl.  I am finally at peace.

It may be an option for others.  We all struggle with our internal/external selves through this process.  We all struggle to find peace.

Thank you all for your replies.  That's a marvelous one-stage result you've got there Matilda.  Meltzer was just too expensive for me when I scheduled surgery

no labiaplasty needed.

I had my GRS with Dr. Toby Meltzer, as well as labiaplasty, as he is 2 stage.  He will make you wait 3 months before doing a labiaplasty.

I will definitely have to consider Miss Marci, as it sounds like she does great work. I have been thinking about Thailand, since I have heard that it is the cheapest way to go, and their labiaplasty surgeons are some of the best in the world from what I hear. How does Miss Bowers stand up to the cost and quality work of the Thailand doctors? Would it be a lot more expensive if I went this route, or are the costs comparable after you take travel and hotel accommodations into account? Thanks for your help!

I was very displeased with my results and so were partners.

I was finally able to have a revision this last year, I never would have trusted Marci to touch me a second time.

How did labiaplasty impact on sensation?

I'm having a meeting with a friend this afternoon and she is VERY MUCH in the marked for both labia and urethroplasty .

Being highly orgasmic at present, it maybe something quite important to take into account...?

I'm now being 7 month post-op, and I'm not all that sensate. No problems with pain, but far less so with stimulation.
It seems to affect the skin surface rather then any below-skin sensations.

As counter-intuitive as it sounds, I am more sensitive after having labiaplasty with Dr. Chettawut.  He was so afraid to reposition my mispositioned clitoris... so worried about sensitivity issues...  I had to keep throwing money at him ^_^ .  But the truth is that before labiaplasty I didn't like having my clitoris touched and now it actually feels good.  Also Dr. Chettawut apparently removed the excess erectile tissue that Marci Bowers left as a souvenir so I no longer rise to the occasion and then flop over to one side like before.  I realize Marci was new in the biz when I went to her and yet I am biting my tongue and giving her respect that is not deserved IMHO.

Now... Dr. Chettawut will charge a PRIME for the correction I alluded to, practically same a prime-SRS in this specific case.

Dr. Sanguan Kunaporn seems a bit less demanding though not very much less either. ~ US$ 9k compared to ~ US$13k in the case of Chettawut.

In fairness we are talking about urethroplasty AND labiaplasty, plus z-plasty (removing ring-scar at vj-introitus).

Anyone else with personal experience of those 2 Dr's "options"?

I have often thought about having the 'other' done, but really decided against it, as right now I have good sensitivity, and like some one else mentions everything *works* so.. lets not go too far. I often read women having their Labia reduced in size, so I can imagine it must be uncomfortable in the first place for some women who have larger labia.

You got THAT right hon, some have to tuck them! No joke. It then gets some nasty name (meat-curtain), so there are some reasons for cis-girl labiaplasty, quite so.

I had SRS with Dr. Meltzer in Nov. 2010. I am happy with my results, and plan to go back this fall for a labiaplasty.

I'm interested in hearing of others experience with a labiaplasty.
