Seriously. Have you ever done it?

I went to McDonalds for breakfast today (I just had coffee and a roll don't get all preachy) and I thought to myself:
Quote"I'll just grab a couple extra creamers and splendas for later."
I just cleaned out my purse and I think I swiped a half gallon of half and half and enough Splenda to last a month  :icon_redface:

Every time I got a refill I grabbed a few more and I guess I got carried away. My grandmother used to steal silverware, even from her church. Am I doomed to repeat her sins?!

It's all good as long as you don't get caught. ;)
If you do not agree to my demands... TOO LATE

Shame on you, young lady.  :eusa_naughty: Do you realize that you are pricing Quarter Pounder out of the reach of the poor and downtrodden.

By the way the next time you are in there get me some Ketchup, I am almost out.  ;D

I always assumed it was alright? My parents sometimes take the spare napkins from our meals.
Don't be scared to fly alone, find a path that is your own
Love will open every door it's in your hands, the world is yours
Don't hold back and always know, all the answers will unfold
What are you waiting for, spread your wings and soar

When I first saw this I thought it said Condoms. Guess who's way too perverted and needs sleep?
But I think it's fine as long as it's not a TON. I used to steal sugar cubes from church during coffee hour. Stealing from McDonalds is probably a lot more ethical than stealing from church. :P

Yeah, but the thing is that they'll generally give you half a ton of these things if you just ask for them.
My parents? Every time we go through the drive-thru, they'll get a dozen ketchups and a few barbecue sauces and unapologetically say they're going to be used at home.

Napkins, creamers, etc. are all self-serve. No one is patrolling it, there are no security cameras; people regularly take way too many napkins and throw away the rest when they're finished.

I don't condone actual theft, but when the things are free and no one is stopping you from taking them, it doesn't really qualify...

Well surely that just means all you have to do is ask and then it's not theft?

As someone rightly pointed out, "theft is theft". There is no qualification to it.

I'm not judging mind, just making an ethical observation.

They are written off as an expenditure for advertising.  Generally they carry they logo.  And while thief is theft, it is all written off at the end of the year.

But if you have young children, it is best not to show them that it is alright.  I generally will only take a few extras, not a years worth.  ;D

Sorry I agree

Theft is theft.

I tell the waiter/ess I don't take milk or sugar, so the cafe can keep it and use it.

People get immune to bad manners very easily. Read posts, we complain :'(

If we support bad manners, we should not.

Never went to Sunday school, did you?

It is very hard for me to resist those packets of "splenda".  Not every restaurant has them.  They are the best of the commercial sweeteners.  Oh well.  I guess I am not perfect.  Alas, Alas.
