So I've been waiting to reserve a date for SRS until I got the letters I needed, since in the documentation I received from Dr. Brassard it says they require that before they can book the appointment. However, based on the excellent advice from SaraR (thanks!), I just called and had them pencil me in for now, and then I can send the stuff later.

So...I called and the only date they had available in my time frame was March 30th. So I booked it!

It's official...3 months 2 weeks until I'm finally done!

Thanks everyone! I'm still in shock that I actually have a date booked. I thought this day would be years away, but you never know where life will take you. Things seem to work out when you need them to.

It's surreal, I've been going to Orbitz for the past couple of weeks to keep up with prices on airfare (since I'm in California and he's in Montreal), and instead of just looking at it and wondering when I'll be able to book it, I actually was able to finish the process, so now I have my flight booked as well...it's all set, and I'm ready to go! WooHoo!

You might check the exchange rates weekly. The US Vs. Canadian dollar is what you will be paying. You should receive a discount based on this. Right now it's around 6% or an $1100 discount!

I have actually already been keeping track of it using an exchange rate iphone app. I'm hoping the dollar gets stronger by then, hey, maybe it'll only be $15k instead! Not getting my hopes up for that one though, lol.
