Fat, sugar and spice...  :eusa_think: FROSTING.
"I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers

I don't believe in any of the 'supernatural' stuff. When you die you are dead.

speak for yourself chemical girls, personally I'm made from a little bit of fat, and the rest sugar and spice and everything nice.
What happens if I pour Chemical X on you?
Don't be scared to fly alone, find a path that is your own
Love will open every door it's in your hands, the world is yours
Don't hold back and always know, all the answers will unfold
What are you waiting for, spread your wings and soar

OK, I'll share one of my 'stories'...
I was 'haunted' by my grandmother for a few weeks. I never met her as she lived and died overseas just after I was born. I felt a presence around me and when I meditated on it I realised it was her, which seemed odd since I didn't know her but there you go. Well, a number of things happened but I'll describe the event that removed all doubt from my mind.
After a few weeks of her hanging around and me trying to figure out what she wanted, I got a bit fed up. So I decided to go to this meditation circle run by a professional psychic which I had gone to before, but not in a while. I had a little conversation with her before I went explaining that I didn't know what she wanted and if she had a particular message for me she could let me know while I was meditating at this group or she could give the message to the psychic and he could pass it on to me.
So I went along and it turned out to be a really big circle - around 30 people, which was huge. I recognised some of the people from before but I did not know any of them outside of the group and had told no one what I was there for. So the guided meditation began and as it progressed I felt her presence grow stronger and stronger. At one point I felt a pressure at the back of my neck and I felt like she was trying to enter my body but I resisted. Actually it freaked me out a bit so I came out of the meditation and just sat there with my eyes closed. When the meditation ended and everyone was beginning to open their eyes, I felt her standing behind my right shoulder and stroking my arm! I just sat there frozen and the psychic who was sitting directly opposite me in the circle looked directly over my right shoulder, then looked at me and asked, "who's that woman standing behind you?" . My mouth dropped open, speechless, and he chuckled and told me not to worry as I had nothing to be afraid of, then turned his attentiont to someone else.
Well I never got a message and couldn't talk to him because there were so many people there wanting to ask him things, but that experience assured me that I wasn't mad - she was really there. In the end I told her she had her chance and I really didn't know what else to do for her, so I asked her if she could leave because I was uncomfortable with her being there. She hung around in the distance for a few days and was completely gone after a week.

Why or why not?

Do you think so-called 'hauntings' can be explained by some other phenomena? Or are they 'imprints' of souls departed?

I don't believe in ghosts, but I think they exist.  Why?  Because of personal experiences that I have never been able to explain by science or some similar reasonings.  I don't expect people to believe my experiences because I have no proof of them, but they were enough to convince me.

I think some hauntings can be explained away such as high EMFs or the wind or a house or some sort of mental problem.  And others I think can be caused by a wide variety of things such as people who have died but can't pass on or demons or some sort of non-physical bodied entity.

I believe firmly in spirits, I'm senitive to them, I can sense their presence, tell what gender they are, sometimes I can hear them as well as see them at times. I've had this gift since my early childhood. I've been touched by them phsyicaly as well as been harmed by them a few times. I know wiether the ones I'm sensing are good or bad. I have so much exp with them it isn't funny and at times I hate my gift but I guess it's better than my ability to sense death or dying. I would tell you some of my exps but idk.

Yes. I've had my share of paranormal experiences. I grew up in a haunted house, although my family doesn't believe in ghosts so they didn't have any experiences with it and just blamed me for everything unusual. I've also done what ghost hunting I can as an adult, without having access to haunted places like if I were in one of the big time investigation teams. So I've seen and heard a few things.

Kia Ora,

I read this on the back of a book, I can't remember the book title nor the author, but it did leave an impression [excuse the pun]on my mind...

" A ghost is merely the mist left upon the warm mirror of the present by the chilled breath of the past!"

Absolutely. I grew up in a house where the furniture moved by itself on a regular basis. When I was 10, we moved to my dad's place of work, which is a funeral home. I literally grew up surrounded by weird events, seeing people that weren't there, hearing things I couldn't place so it doesn't really scare me. It's as much a part of my childhood (and life, even now) as my grandma's cooking.

One of the most interesting stories, to me, is once when I was about 11 I was walking down the hall to the living room, passed the door that led to downstairs and saw this old, very tall man walking by. He stopped, looked at me and smiled a bit, and then just kinda...poofed.
About two months later, I was in the basement with my dad going through the previous owner's stuff, saw a photo and said "That's the man I saw!" My dad goes "Where, in the other pictures?" and I told him "No, downstairs. He smiled at me." Freaked my dad the hell out, lol.

I'm actually, dorky as it is, huge into doing EVPs and half-assed ghost hunting nowadays. A group of friends and I like to hit a local cemetery as much as we can, we've gotten some incredible stuff over there. That, and my basement. Eesh...my basement. There's a little girl at that cemetery that's taken a serious liking to my boyfriend. She'll only talk if he's around, and on the recordings she always sounds so happy when he shows up, and once we caught what definitely sounds like crying as we left. It's kind of heartbreaking, hearing this poor kid who's been dead since the 1900's, but at the same time I'm glad we go there, so at least she's got someone to visit. We're going to buy her flowers once we've got the money.

Actually, if anyone's interested, I can link to our youtube. Our EVPs aren't phenomenal, but I think some of them are pretty damn good.

I did in home care work for elderly folks for about a year... There was always weird stuff happening at this one place... I finally got up the nerve to ask if the elderly couple if they had noticed anything strange going on... They laughed a bit and then answered...
"Yeah, that's the ghosts, they're always playing about... We're use to it, don't let it bother you"

I'll admit to my somewhat conspiracy theoryish belief that our reality doesn't quite exist the way we see it.  It seems like we have a lot more possible evidence of our universe not physically existing than we do of people having souls or spirits.  I do not believe that ghosts exist as a remnant of us or our souls continuing on.  Instead, I can imagine that whatever creates our reality essentially recalls data or (I have to say it) has a glitch in the matrix.

Kia Ora,

::) Ghosts...What if ghosts are just residual energies/consciousnesses , where only those with finely turned ESP can tune into this energy forces and when doing so, the residual consciousness take on the shape that the receiving mind is capable of understanding/comprehending....

::)Weird theory I know...But hey I'm somewhat weird anyway... ;)

Form is emptiness-Emptiness is form...After all... It's all in the mind
