I have been visiting Susan's for about ten years,   and I have finally posted a picture of the real me.    This is how the people at home see me.   When I go out I put on woman's jeans, loose the breasts, and put on a neutral tee shirt.  This is where I am now.   My nails are painted red all the time.

Welcome Michelle. 

Thankyou all.  I am finally relaxing and letting myself be myself.    All I ask from others close to me is the same understanding they would like to have from me when with their tough decissions in life.   If any of my children or those whom I have had as students over the years came to me and let me know they were transgendered hoping for my understanding and acceptance.   I would give my acceptance and understanding.    That is all I expect of them.    Thus I must free myself from their expectations of me and they must of mine.    I can't live my life for them nor they for me.     What ever time in terms of eternity this acceptance takes, it takes.    For so long have I been codepentant on others expectations of me,  at 63 in order for me to be spiritually healthy I must take care of myself and let the chips fall where they may.   Susan's has helped me with my growth as a woman over the years and I am sure it will also in the future.

I so agree with your sentiments. People I work with are suprised that I am so understanding and compassionate with their problems. Haviing been on this journey for a long time it does make you understanding.
