I went to the store on my bike. There is allot of snow and ice on the roads and sidewalks

When I got to the ATM at the bank I realized I'd forgot my helmet and thought "I hope nothing bad happens"

Everything went fine untill a block away from my place

My breaks failed and I found myself in the middle of a road with two lanes going each way

One car barely stopped behind my rear wheel, another car from the other direction slid sideways and barely missed the front. A woman screamed real loud and someone yelled "what the hell....Crazy B----" then a big truck went around everyone and the driver gave me the finger.

It looked like a scene from a Bruce Willis movie. But surprisingly, no-one crashed.

I was freaked out and embarrassed

It took awhile for my nerves to settle so I did house chores to keep busy

*hugs* I guess this makes two of us in two days time ....Glad you are ok!!

It makes me wonder about others who may have been in accidents or had close calls recently

Did they have a premonition before hand?

Glad ur ok! I was in a potentially fatal accident a few months ago and had no premonition, no life flashing before my eyes, nothing but numb from the trauma, and glad to be alive, without a scratch. When I was younger I was alot more intuitive, but I think stress and the way my life has gone lately has made me psychically insensitive.

It almost impossible to stop on ice. Remember this in the future it will save your life.

Normally I use the brake to slow down in case I have to stop, but the brake cable popped off.

I'm a rather experienced and cautious rider, but that caught me by surprise
