I have a Phoenix I want to get on my back,  my two best friends designed it for me  :)
It will extend from my tail bone to my neck, the wingtips bend and extending onto my shoulders.... theres allot more to it than that, but its the one and only tatoo I will ever get and Ive been planing it for a very VERY long time.....

I think tatoos are really cool looking, but I really have no desire to get one myself.  I like keeping my body looking natural without feeling like I need to add body art to it.  I have thought about getting some woman piercings on my ears and my belly button  though so I can wear more jewelry.

I think the same way as you do, Shannon.  However, lately, I plan to get my eyebrows retattooed (is this a word, BTW?); the ink has faded quite a bit, and considering the fact that I'm almost blind, I need to see where my eyes are on my face everytime I apply makeup in the morning. ;D

I'm jumping around the discussion boards so here goes..ummmm
7 other than the big one accross my upper butt-waistline the rest would not cover the shadow of a canteloupe added together.
one on each ankle- 1 represents my family blood line flag-nationality, the other is a twin of a heart with wings (drawn at the studio-an original) i got with my best buddy's wife together (bummer they divorced a few years back-guess we could for certain ID each other in a crowd or twins contest)
2 are centered on my front pelvic region one a pink heart the other the transgendered symbol (not even sure why i did that maybe God will recognize it when i die and go to heaven)
On my chest a baby dragon - is said to protect your heart
on bum a little heart (that was my first-girlfriend hated it at the time) and largest is a two word design in a foreign language with a heart!
All have one character they can be hidden with clothing as to allow for my job and such!
That's it, ponder another but there's no rush....

I have one on my right shoulder.....it's a bulls skull with feathers hanging from one of the horns.  I don't regret doing it because honestly I never thought for a second I would ever make it as far as I have so far in transition.  The tattoo was extremely well done and except for some color fading it looks good.  The artist chose to do it all with a single needle because he said "when everyone else's tats are fuzzy looking yours will still look sharp" and he was right.

I imagine that I will have it removed one day simply because it's too much of a reminder of my past.  I do want to get a small teddy bear that looks like my beloved H.B. (my most favoritist teddy bear) and a pink butterfly on the back of my shoulder.  I also want an ankle bracelet of blue dolphins around my right ankle someday.

It's just not something I would consider.  I have admired some body art and I have disdain for much of it when done poorly.  I can't help but think that someday I'd get sick of anything that I would choose and want to have it removed.  I have thought about getting my blood type tatooed in a conspicuous place.  It is a fleeting thought.

Did anyone ever see that film called Tatoo with Lauren Hutton?  Some guy kidnapped her. Every time she woke up, she'd have more body art done on her.  It was striking in design and color but it terrified me.  I saw it when I was fairly young... so perhaps that might be my hang up about it.

I think the place for this is on the inside of the left arm.  It's a pretty standard thing from what I understand.

Mine isn't particularly masculine but I really really wanted it. It's an outline of a black dove holding an olive branch in its beak (the leaves are green). It's located on the inside of my wrist, just barely on my palm.
