As I will be gone for 2 weeks this summer having bottom surgery, I had to inform my ex about my plans.

Of course I get the 'I thought you weren't having that done?' and 'why can't you stay in the US? You could DIE over there!' comments.

Before I fire off an email I will regret, what exactly should you tell someone about this?  Basically it is none of his business.

I'm also pissed off at my mother, so just overall not in a good mood.

You may have already said this but how I'd explain it would be by saying there aren't many doctors who can give you the results you want. This isn't a surgery where you can pop over to your local hospital and suddenly have a penis. Sure you could go to a more local surgeon, but if they're not very experienced in this kind of surgery it heightens the risk of complications where you could be mutilated. You've researched this and have made a well informed choice on what the surgery and who you'll have perform it.

Anyway, hope all goes well for ya and congrats on your upcoming surgery.

I guess if you have to explain, say you have done your research and are going with who has the best results. As said above can't just have it done anywhere.  Best doctor, best results and you deserve nothing but the best. I would explain as little as possible as it's not really any of his darn business (ok I am sure that does not help at all).

To put it in the anatomically correct nomenclature for this discussion, how do you owe your 'ex' dick for an explanation for anything?  They are the 'ex' for a reason.  Good enough.

I would not even let my ex into one of my shows, even thought I could (with no permission or questions from anyone).  I was like 'buy a ticket' - so it goes.  She is nothing to me now, just a civilian.  If any part of my life was all that important to her, perhaps they should have stayed around.

The only reason I told him anything is because we have children together, and he needs to take care of them while I'm gone.  Other than that I'd just say F*** off!!  LOL

Good for you for remembering your little ones, Jay. In really emotional times you can easily forget and regret it later.

This isn't easy stuff for you to explain OR for your ex to understand, so erring on the side of forgiveness is probably a good idea.
