So far the nail-tech salons and beauty parlors around here seem recession/depression proof.

I'm currently working in a call center for a catalog company.  It kinda sucks that I have to give my female name because my voice still sounds feminine (and the confusion wouldn't be worth it If I lost a sale).  Customers I'm talking too don't know or care what I look like, and my supervisors don't care either.  If you can handle being on the phone all day, customer service/ call center jobs can be trans friendly.

I have also worked as a line and prep cook, where I also didn't have to see the customers. Never had any issues with the rest of the kitchen staff.

My experience has always been that jobs with little or no face to face interaction with customers seem to have been the most comfortable work environments.
