I had my first laser session on Friday. I was there about an hour, but she was only using the laser on me for about 20-30min. Pain wise it wasn't that bad, it was less than elipating. Some parts hurt a lot, upper lip, edge of the chin and at the neck line.

I've got fair skin and dark fur. I know she was getting the hair, because I could smell the burnt hair and it hair/follicles popping. It's kinda like rice krispies with a bad smell.

I shaved this morning for the first time again. It didn't hurt, although there was a little tenderness.

How long before some of the dead hair should fall out?

My next appointment is 4 weeks away should I move it out a week or two?

I have found that a few of the hairs fall out right away. But most of them take 1-2 weeks. It will look like you actually have MORE facial hair as the wider roots work their way to the surface. But then they fall out and all is well.

My appointments are 6 weeks apart, on the recommendation of my laser tech. But I've heard anywhere from 4-8 weeks for others.

Good luck!

Quoteit was less than elipating

I had my brows done the other day, and the girl commented on how deeply rooted they are and said "doesn't it hurt when I yank it out?" I was like...lol, I guess it does honey, I pay a lady to stick electrified needles in my face, and consider that a nice afternoon. Yer gimpy lil wax job is nothin!

Anyway congrats on the session! What kind of rate did you get? Personally I think you should stretch it out to the 6-8 week mark, so you can still get whatever the laser might have missed but pick up a new growth cycle too. It's your body, you'll figure out what's right for you  :-*

I go every six weeks also, per my tech. Also yes the wait afterward suck as it doesn't shave well and looks pathetic for two weeks. But for me it is almost like magic at the two week mark when suddenly there is so much less there. Have patience sweetie.
If I had a penny for my thoughts, I'd be a millionaire.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
That the difference between me and the rest of the world! Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!

This is what I experienced. I am about 2 weeks out from my first appointment. Right afterwards the hairs turned really dark black and it looked bad for about a week then everything finished coming out. Wow, what a HUGE difference! My doctor recommended every 4 to 6 weeks so I chose 5 weeks. 3 more weeks until laser from hell hits my face again and I can't wait! :)

The usual hair growth cycle is that every six weeks or so hairs are replaced.   I would therefore aim to go every six weeks or slightly longer apart.   By law, my nurse cannot treat me without a break of 5 weeks 3 days.   Once a month is too quick and may result in ineffective treatment.

Oh, and enjoy having a face like a checkerboard for a few weeks, the stripes, then patches.   Like you I have fair skin and dark hair, I have had five sessions and the results have been brilliant.   I have no doubt you will have the same type of results.
