ok i recently had my doctor fill out two documents(one in my old name due to financial situation and one in my new cuz i know how picky the ohio dmv is) stating i wanting to change my gender. the publication i read on the internet said that it took 7-10 days to process. i turned my document in long after that mark and have not heard anything from them. i have even excluded MLK day as part of the 7-10 days as it is not a normal business day for government paid employees. can anyone advise me on why it would take them longer than the time they explicitly specified??

You mean for the gender marker or SSA?

And I would assume you excluded the weekends.  And add three days at minimum for the USPS.

yeah Nero, i mean for the Ohio DMV not SSA. yeah i think i included three days for that, and well we still get mail on saturday, so the only other days to exclude are sunday, it's still been over two weeks. i don't see how they are under funded--they charge 20 bux for temp plates now!!!--what a rip off for a piece of cardboard that is--well useless after 30 days. if they are going to raise prices for stupid crap like that they need to increase the length of time it's good for--just my opinion--which of course means less than didd'y doodoo here in Ohio...lol

Is there no number that you can call, Mekayla?  Maybe there is something wrong?

Just a thought.

ok, i contacted Shane and TransOhio and he(i presume--his emails come over as that i am a stupid broad) told me to try calling them down in Columbus. Fat lot of good that did!! i called FOUR different numbers and every damn one of them was busy!! how the hell am i suppose to talk to anyone if they only have one damn phone line? (or at least seem to?) my ex said they use to have an 800 number. their site lists nothing of the sort for the purpose of this post, but to shut her up i called it anyway--guess what?? it was busy too!! does any one else have any ideas?? i don't like being lied to, even less when it comes to the government!!
