Hi my name is Karri. I'm 30 and have been dating women sence high school. I've been atracted to men but it just never worked into a relationship with one. Well I thought not. I've been with my partner for about 16 months. We dated a few years back a few times but we were mostly friends. We are two profesional women. She is fairly high profile in our town. Well I started noticing some male-like characteristics in her. Not butch lesbo stuff but male. I kind of slowly confessed to her that "I got it, I understand something is different". Well I think she hearing someone else say it validated something. So now here we are. She is trying to come to terms with her/his gender. That's why I'm here, I need to be helped along too! :police:

Karri:

Welcome to Susan's!  Please take time to read the guidelines and such and have a look around.  You are among friends here (a lot of them!).

You may want to see if your partner would like to sign up as well and be able to discuss his issues with other female to male trans folks.

There is a lot to come to terms with and I can understand your confusion.  If your partner actually goes through a transition to male, then it will be a transition for all around him.

Unfortunately it can put a strain on a relationship.  Communication is the key.  Open and honest communication between partners can be the best way to come to grips with the issues to be faced.

I'm very glad you came here.  We have a forum for partners and you will be able to discuss your issues with other partners who are going through the same thing you are.

Also realize that you are not alone.  You have sisters and brothers who can be a shoulder to cry on as well as give advice.

So, that all being said, Karri, feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Welcome to Susan's, Karridoll.  :icon_flower:

There's a lot of good information and good people here.  Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common.  Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.

Be sure to look under the Announcements heading.  There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours: "Site Terms of Service and Rules to Live By", "Standard Terms and Definitions", and "Post Ranks".  Look through the other stuff there, too, like "Age and the Forums".

Look under Significant Others and Female to Male, but there are a lot of other areas that might help.  Sometimes I think this can be most difficult for the innocent bystanders - the ones who care for us - as we slowly discover who we really are.

Happy exploring and good luck. :icon_wave:

Hi Karri, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 4000 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another SO. :icon_hug:

And as Sandy and Kate have said there are the links to check out:

Be all means have your partner come and join in.  The guys will have a lot of helpful tips.  And us girls and help with some issues too.

Hugs and Love,
Janet
