Hi all,

Don't post here much but when I do generally get some good responses.

I was just diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, moderate bordering on severe.  Means my atria in the heart "quiver" instead of contracting?  New to this so bear with me.  Episodes last about an hour and heart rate goes from 68 to 120.

Guess what I thought were panic attacks for years was actually this.

Just put on beta blocker.

I have been on HRT 11 months...estrogel...with noticably good results.  But now with this heart problem is there more risk?

Will talk to my endo but any help is appreciated

Flo

I was treated for AFib for 21 years ... there are several meds for this problem.  So if there is a conflict with your HRT, there may be a solution in one of the others.  The one that worked best for me and had the fewest side effects was Tambocor.  I have not taken it at the same time as my HRT though.

Try here for info about it:

I am not a doctor, but GGs have the same thing and are on HRT.  But you doctor should know what is best.

Thanks for the input!

Guess I'll wait and see as getting into any specialist is time consuming here in Canada.

Did read that the beta blocker I'm on causes you to be more tired and gain weight...last hing I need!

At one point I was put on beta blockers, I did not react well at all and was taken off very soon thereafter.  Made me dumb as a brick, I mean I could not add up three numbers in row.  They vary a LOT in how they affect folks though.  YMMV !

Thanks Charlene,

Have been on them now for a few weeks I think and what a drag.  I have no energy, 3/4 depressed and can't hold a thought.  Some help huh?

Well go to a cardio Friday...maybe he can help
