I'm sitting here just vegetating and it occurred to me that I should be doing something toward transitioning myself.
I'm looking for guidance and suggestions from the forums on what I should be doing. One thing I find myself doing is window shopping on eBay for clothing etc.I feel uncomfortable going to Charity clothing shops as I look very male.
Things are going to be tight on the money side for me as I'm only on an Australian pension.
Any help would be appreciated:-\

Lesley-Ann, I'm not sure if this will be useful to you, but I'll pass on a couple of things that have worked for me.

Arts organizations are always looking for volunteers, and they tend to be comprised of the most tolerant of people.  My first step into the public realm was as an office volunteer.  I've done it for over two years with great success and never a problem.  It can help you learn how to function in an environment comprised mostly of women.

Someone started a local Meetup group designed for those who consider themselves to be out of the mainstream and eccentric.  What better kind of person with whom to test the water?  Again, I've had nothing but positive results since joining.

I've learned that the vast majority of those whom I encounter are willing to treat me as the person I present myself to be.
