    Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) says repealing the law that bans gays from openly serving in the military will hurt the cohesiveness of the armed forces. Duncan, who served in the Marine Corps in both Afghanistan and Iraq, says most people in the military would be uncomfortable if the "don't ask don't tell" policy were repealed.

Duncan Hunter is an ->-bleeped-<- who is the preferred choice for right wing nuts who don't think Sara Palin is conservative enough (or that she's a girl, and that's enough).

President Obama's pledge to end the military's controversial "don't ask, don't tell policy," has resulted in predictable opposition from Republicans, despite support to end the practice from Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, and even Retired Army Gen. Colin L. Powell. But Republican freshman congressman Rep. Duncan Hunter from California, offered an unusual take on his reasons for opposing a policy of allowing gay soldiers to serve openly. He is concerned that repealing DADT would open the military floodgates to "transgenders, to hermaphrodites." That's right, Rep. Hunter, who is a former marine, believes that transsexuals and hermaphrodites will immediately flock to military recruiting offices throughout the country, because no longer discriminating based on sexual orientation means that the military "is going to let everybody in." And just a little tip to Rep. Hunter: sexual orientation has nothing to do with individuals born with intersex conditions.
