Hey everybody,

I want to talk about something that I don't often see on here...Perfume...Do you have certain perfumes you prefer? That other people like? Or ones that just seem to blend with you?

For me, I love perfume not just for its smell, the good remarks but also because it does help with "passing", having a strong piercing male pheromones as an trans-women just wouldn't click.

My personal favorites are Believe and In Control by Britney Spears, which I receive a lot of good comments on both of them but a new and recent one I've been trying out is one called Burberry Brit, I've got a fair amount of good feedback...And for me I notice that men typically like perfumes with vanilla--It's my guess that this is true because it reminds men of home cooking and youth...Also I notice men like a light musk.

Do you agree? Disagree? What's your personal favorites?! Dislikes...? Ones that people like on you?

This can also go to trans-men who use cologne as well! ^_^

You might enjoy reading Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins which as a lot of stuff about the history of perfume and how people who make it think of what they are doing and trying to do.

All perfumes are based on chords, like a lot of music - a top note, a middle note and the all important base note.  Musk by itself is not an awesome smell - as anyone who hangs out with hippies knows - but with the right notes above it, it's transformed into something else.

Real perfumes (not copies, but ones made with real essence) are unique to the wearer, the same one smells different on different people based on chemistry and body heat.

And the Elizabeth Arden and Revlon ones work best for me - but like I said, its a crap shoot until you wear it for a few hours.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Just stay away from that perfume that they sell in mall clothing stores. You know which one, usually pink and they all smell the same. Really obnoxious smell. All the girls at my high school spray it all over the damn place during class, between classes, right next to other people.

I like Tabu for every day wear and Midnight Poison for evening, special occasions.
Funnily I could never wear cologne / after shave as a guy  Never new why. Maybe it just reinforced maleness.

We will have to get smell-a-vision I would love to try Rejennyrated :-*

Maybe I could re-launch it as an exclusive scent for those of us who have trodden this strange journey.

Hey - now actually that's a pretty cool idea! We could have a "secret" scent recognition code for each other that no-one else knew...

Anyone?

I have been told that the big fashion labels make their money from their perfumes rather than their clothes. So you could be on something massive, and since people are keen to buy perfumes named after succesful(? Brittany?)personalities you could be the next millionairess. Rejennyrated Perfume has a definite 'ring' about it, don't you think? Jenny you could have a whole line of products

If so could I have a few mill as a spotters fee

Hugs to the three of you. Still reading BTW

Ok girls... After some deliberation about the pros and cons of making my signature scent open source, here is the "formula" - which you can take to a parfumier to have it made up on condition that you keep the name!

It's a young sweet sent. A fruity citrussy start, strong floral mid notes with a just hint of alluring eastern spice... and a rich vanilla finish!

Citrus 10%
Bergamot 12%
Red Fruit 10%
Jasmine 23%
Rose 15%
Sandalwood 6%
Oriental Spice 10%
Amber 8%
Vanilla 6%

Enjoy!

Ps. Sorry boys... as yet I haven't tried my skill at designing a male version.

PPS. If anyone else gets it made up - please let me know what you think of it.
