I have been scraping together money here and there and I think I can now afford 2-3 appointments in the charing cross gender clinic. Can anyone give me an idea of what I might actually achieve, if anything, with only a couple of appointments?

I figure it has to be better than waiting for the NHS even if I can't afford to keep going

Doesn't they charge a lot more than other private options when you see them privately?

I recently heard how much Charing X charge private patients, which is a lot less than they charge NHS, but is still a lot more than if you go elsewhere in London say.

yeah it's expensive, but the NHS takes far too long

and this is the "famous" one, with the good reputation. I'd rather spend a chunk of money knowing I'm seeing somebody good. Than spend a slightly smaller chunk of money for someone who might be completely rubbish.

I'm at charing cross, but NHS. I'm not sure how much it is to go private. All i can suggest is that you enquire by ringing them, if you have their number.

Personally, if it were me, I would go to see Dr Richard Curtis at the London Institute.

For one thing he is a postop FtM himself - so understands the drill very well.

For another he is likely to be a deal cheaper and just as good.

(But then of course in all honesty I will admit that I am possibly severely biased because I have been almost lifelong best mates with the retired gender psychiatrist from whom he took over the practice.)
