I thought I'd already posted about this but apparently not... anyway last year the 20th of Dec I was sleeping in (it was a sunday so it was justified >_> ) around 9.30am I started hearing some cracking sounds they were quiet but started getting louder. I rolled over and saw a spilt down the centre of my ceiling, I instantly jumped out of bed and run for the door, I got out and the cracked continued until......... as I was watching from the door way it began to give way and fall down.. I squealed and run away in confusion. I felt like my world was falling apart, very surreal, not the best way to wake up on a sunday morning.
I called an emergency number but their was little they could do except look at it and fish out a few things I needed out of my room for me.
I stayed at my parents for about a week and a half before coming up with an idea of moving my bed into the meals area where my computer is *evil*.
After a few days a cleaning crew came to remove the pieces of ceiling and insulation that covered everything. I managed to clean and get everything sorted. The only thing I lost was a pair of shoes which I replaced easy enough :S
It's February and I'm still in the meals area, everything is fixed except it just needs painting which will no doubt be done next week ....hopefully.

 :o

My ceiling crashed down around me a bunch of times, but it was always metaphorically. ::)  I'm glad you're all right, Muffin.

That must have been very scary, but I am glad you are ok.

What the???  How did that happen?  Water damage?

That must have been very scary and surreal, especially since you weren't fully awake.

The electrician said yesterday that the ceiling people had replaced two tiles so it must of been water damage.. The ceiling in the toilet isn't looking all that attached either, some major bowing action going on, I hope it doesn't fall when I'm on the loo....knowing my luck lol! This house is old. :P
Yeah it definitely woke me up that's for sure!!! I was more than willing to get out of there and stay to my parents house afterwards. Now every time I hear a creak in the roof I jolt.
