Jess

Does anyone else need to use a pad or pantyliner after sex? I find that usually I bleed some after sex and I need to wear a pad or at least a pantyliner to avoid making a mess the day after.

Not that I don't love having sex as a woman, but I am not fond of this side effect.

Blood does not sound good.
Are you sure that you are using enough lube?

Bleeding into the next day is probably not a good thing. Bleeding from inside can be stopped by applying pressure with the largest dilator (NOT vibrator) that you own, that might be worth trying if the bleeding is taking so long to stop.

I never bleed after sex but if I did I would either dilate more or see a doctor or both.

If you are bleeding, you need to get it checked out - that is NOT normal.

I bled the first time but it was barely 6 weeks after surgery - not a drop after that. The pad is for the "other stuff" that oozes out for hours after sex  :o

To repeat what everyone else has said.

This is not right and you absolutely must see a Dr.

I agree with the others.  If you are bleeding after sex and the next day, then there is something seriously wrong.

When I first had my first experiences, occasionally I would see spots of blood.  However with more dilation and more lube.  I have never really had any bleeding problems since.  So friction and rough play can and will contribute to a bit of bleeding.

So the amount you are describing does not sound right.  So for peace of mind for yourself and the other members that are here, that care for you.

Please, please go and see your doctor NOW. Preferably a GRS surgeon needs to be consulted on this issue.

Kindest regards

I should probably clarify.. I am not bleeding, more like spotting. I have been to the doctor and she said small blood vessels could possibly be ruptured during sex and explained it was "normal" if it wasn't excessive and as long as it stopped. It's only the first day after and usually by mid afternoon when I use the ladies room I remove the pad or pantyliner.

Jess, that's really good news. The dr has seen it and given you a clear.

I really hope there will some post op women here who might be able to discuss similar experiences.

Sorry if I misunderstood and over reacted.

Thank you for the good news and for clarifying your issue (I and maybe others breathe a sigh of relief).

Take care.

Yup - it happened to me for a couple of years.

Then it settled down and stopped and i haven't had any problems for over 20 years.

I expect now that I've been revised, I'll have to get used to it happening for a while again.

As long as the bleeding isn't excessive, it's nothing to worry about, although it should make you extra cautious and use barrier precautions if you have sex with someone whose HIV status you are not 100% sure of.

Because, of course, if there is bleeding there is an increased chance of blood to blood contact...
