Do you hate going to the doctor's office? If so, is it because of the poking, the prodding, the syringes or the equipment? Or is it because of the 'bedside manner' of your doctor and their staff? Why am I asking? A new National survey released from the LGBT organization, Lambda Legal, shows that half of the LGB (Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual) and HIV communities feel they are discriminated against by their healthcare providers. Over 5,000 participants were asked questions on whether they were discriminated against by their healthcare providers due to either: a) refusal to treat them when medical care was needed; b) used excessive procedures upon touching them; c) being on the receiving end of brute, harsh or abusive language; d) being blamed for their health status, or e) the healthcare provider was physically rough or abusive.
