Yesterday at work a new part time person(Lets call him F) who always refers to me as he came up to me after spending sometime on the phone with another co-worker(And her G). Said co-worker even though has been told repeatedly by my boss, supervisors as well as her own; continually calls me she, or her. F asked me "Why does she constantly do that? I mean really does she not know you're a guy or what. " He did not say the last sentence as a question but more of a is she stupid sort of way. Without missing a beat and because I had expected something of this sort to happen anyway I said. "I just allow people to think what they want. It isn't any hair off of my chest when people bounce around labels and comments like that. Besides she's old you had the pleasure of being elected the new G speaker."

Now for history those in charge of hiring my group of co-workers call me he and introduce me as so. As well as correcting others or themselves when mess ups happen. G's son and I have been friends before he had been hired on to work. He lives at home and they both have a habit from what I have seen of telling each other everything.

So is it that she is just "old" or what? I am not trying to be disrespectful to the older generation since working here means you start nearly right out of high school or college. People learn your habits and what not, within the ten years of working here this lady has gone down hill big time. Not only does she repeat herself over the phone but in replied -emails about jobs being worked on. In general when she comes across campus and someone spots her they call out ICG... mean, but believe me if you had to listen to 45 minutes if not longer of her whining drone voice (think clear eyes guy) then you would run and hide again.

*Sigh* sorry I do know I type a lot when I do post. Bare with me please.

Old?  Old?!? Exactly what is old?  And I am kidding except for how old is she?  Some people get set in their ways and won't change for love nor money.

Maybe she just can not accept the fact that you are you.  Or maybe she is really old.  ;D

Just blow her off and if this new guy does not seemed phased by it then, both of you just blow her off.

And I was joking about the old thingy.  ;D

*Cowers* She's been working here for 45 years she's currently pushing 60 plus. I know she's set in her ways when I first started working there she refused to accept that her computer skills needed brushing up. They actually had to make it mandatory in once stage for every department to relearn the system.   :embarrassed: I did not mean old as in just age I meant it in how long someone has been working for them.

F Does not seem fazed at all he just I guess thought it weird and wanted to share with me. Working here is like being in high school all over again =/ without the library in where I could hide out my lunch breaks.

Well she sounds like she needs to seriously think about retiring.  Some people never learn to stay out of other peoples business.  And OMG not high school again!  :o  you poor baby.  ;)

I would just let her sit there in her old fuddy duddy ways.  I am sure others just ignore her.

And take a book and go hide in the car at lunch.

Lol people don't retire from here and even if they did you most likely will end up working with spouses or their kids/grandkids. It's really weird but the Extension is like one big family of well oddballs. Most ignore her but she's like a evil blood hound that sniffs you out.

Just today she even tracked down the main boss after he had given her the slip. She circled his door for 30 then came towards the back, I can only hobble so fast to get away. I was like a wounded gazelle and my trainee ran off and left me. =/

Thank you Janet Lynn talking to you always cheers me up when something like this bothers me.

Anytime, Muddyfrog.  I seek out help here myself and I give it back when I can.

Maybe the next time she is tracking you down you could play Dead.  ;D  She would sniff you and look for more live prey.
