Wow.. Wow.. And wow  This week has been so amazing...

It's a long story, but I've started to change my clothing style. I'll try to mix and match female and male clothes the way I want.  For example low waist tight female jeans (or sometimes even jeans kind of leggins), slim male shirt and female tunic... So I dressed up and went to shopping today...

Firstly I had a lunch with some old male co-workers. I was a little bit worried about the lunch, but it went well. They just ignored my changed style. It was absolutely great experience. The restaurant was full of people and nobody noticed anything 

I found a lovely small shop, which owner is awesome. I told her that I want to have more feminine and androgynous style and she wanted to help me. This time I didn't buy anything, but she told me that some of the spring clothes might be just perfect for me. Some crazy feminine jeans and some t-shirts... Can't wait 

So the next shop. I was just looking around and wanted a new mascara. So I picked a shop where I saw a couple of young female workers. They were very helpful to find out new mascara for me. We had a long talk about make-up.

The third shop. I saw a nice tunic in one window. I went in and asked about it. The young female worker picked the right color and size for me. She was very helpful. She also mentioned that my style was right. Not too feminine, not too provocative but really stylish.

And finally I've got the courage to go to buy new bras. I went in a lingerie shop, picked up 10-13 different bras. There was nobody else on that shop. So asked the female young worker can I try them.... One blink, two blinks and it was ok for me to try them out. Now I have 3 perfect bras     So when I was paying them, I told her that in some shops it's not allowed for male to try out women under ware. She told that they don't care if the bras are for female or male. As long as the customer get's what they want with correct size and fit.

So the conclusion..... In current economy situation they don't care what you buy as long as you buy as much as you can 

But the biggest thing is.. If you are confident enough, you can buy what ever you want and need

And the long story, first I felt feminine if I had female underwear, second thing was skirts and tunics... and now I want to have more shoes... I love shoes. I have flat winter knee high boots, but now I want some high heels     

Congrats on the shopping experience 

So far all I have managed is the odd item filched from wal mart or the grocery or the goodwill store.

Yep there is nothing like a good shopping trip. After you overcome "THE FEAR"  it s all pretty straight forward. As you said, you are the customer, the shops want to sell goods, if you want and can buy them then what the hell?

I know I have said this in other threads but I have NEVER had a problem buying clothes whether as fully clothed as Cindy or being Cindy in male clothijg (sometimes I still have too ). The last time I got an insult in a shop was from a customer. I wear quite large hoop earings, always. They are in both ears and get noticed. I walked out of a big store recently and a creature said, "It's all about the gay guys" the creature was having problems holding up his trousers and talking at the same time. That is as close to an insult as I have come. BTW I have never seen a guy wearing ear rings like mine , seen lots of girls though

It totally terrified me to get my ears pierced beacause I would be outed (see other threads of mine if you wish). No one has said anything rude to me, no one has tried to affect my job situation.

Go have a good shop.

I particularly love shoes and handbags. They are so good to shop for. Why?

So after I have enough shoes, I need more handbags 
I just realized I bought last year at least 3 different bags 

I have always had great luck shopping even before I went full time. I use to tell the clerk the clothes were for my wife but I remember the first day I just told the truth. The clerk asked me if she could help me and I looked her straight in the eye and said I was transgendered. She smiled an said she would be pleased to help me. It felt great to be able to accept publically who I was.

It is the opposite way for me. Every time I go to the store I get more afraid each time. Lucky for me that all I want is makeup, I don't want bras or anything like that. I do like pink shirts though.

Sorry my terminology was poor. I think for myself to be "outed" would be if someone was insulting to me when I am dressed etc as Cindy eg calling me a dressed up guy etc. Even though when I don't have the wig and war paint and clothes I am still me. Only I don't look like me. (Hope that isn't confusing )
I think I meant being outed in the current context, was that some clown thought it was being clever and insulting by trying to insinuate that I was Gay. It was stupid because 1)I am not offended, though I am not Gay. 2) It was a crass and ugly remark from a crass and silly individual. So if anything I felt sorry for it.

I also feel sorry for people who would be offended. I do feel the need to protect my sisters and brothers from banality and to warn them that such behaviour happens, but it is unimportant.

I know what it's like. I was shaking in my shoes the first time. A recent shopping trip was after I had been to the gym. I realised I was going out that night and wanted a blouse to go with a new skirt I had bought. So sweaty old me in tracks and T-shirt, looking like, and smelling like an old goat, went to a boutique I know. Walked in collects two nice blouses and went to the counter. The manager was serving and just asked,  if they are the wrong size for your girl friend she can bring them back for exchange. I just said no, they are for me. I'm TG and live as a woman, but I've just been to the gym and go in male clothes. Oh she said Oh Oh, well, they are my favourite colours, I have some nice jewellery here that will go with them. I'll sign you up for an award card. We had a really nice chat. I think she had a lot of questions but was afraid to ask.
When I left, I asked her, Do you think you will recognise me when I return? Oh, Oh she said (again).

When I went back she didn't recognise me, but did when I reminded her with the award card. She was fine. I used the dressing rooms no problem. I'm sure that I am welcome back at any time.

Fear is your enemy. Relax and enjoy. It's your money. If a person has a problem just give them the clothes etc and say good bye. Their loss.

I and lots of us know how damn hard it is. Guess what when I joined this board I would only shop at the big Dept stores like Target, WalMart etc. Because they are so anonymous to shop in. I now shop anywhere I want. I have NEVER been turned away in a shop. I have been told that I needed a bigger shoe size,(when trying on HIGH heels) dressed as a guy. She just brought them over. Agin we had a great chat. Me "Oh these are really high, have you danced in them" She "Yes they are suprisingly comfy, dancing is no problem just don't walk miles" - she was right
