So! I have gotten a huge urge to do crossdressing and I like lolita/gothic lolita styles you find in Japan a lot. So! I've dressed in skirt stuff before but they were on lend and now I'm trying to form my own outfit, since I want to go to an anime convention at some point in full dress ;). So I have a general list of stuff I'll need:

- Wig (long hair)
- Outfit
- Leggings (black/white stripe, or perhaps all white if in contrast with a black-ish outfit)
- Shoes (but this will be the hard part.....I wear 11 wide in men's :icon_blah:)
- Arm stuff that matches the leggings
- Makeup

Now I'm in still in planning, but I'm also trying to be budget conscious, but anyone got any ideas on this? Here's a few pictures to give a basic idea:

If I broke any rules with the links...apologies >< please let me know mods....

I can't say I have any ideas myself, but I think these are kinda cool too... I never really considered it before, but thinking about it, this is really just a matter of time. ^_^

I'm not sure how I'd look, though; it'll need a bit more visualization on my part. I could probably pull it off, I think... I need to do a few sketches.
I'm a little worried I'll be too tall (6' 2''  :icon_tears:), but oh well. I wear size 10 1/2 - 11 shoes too.

Be sure to post pictures when you do! I'm sure everyone will want to see...   :)

I don't have either any ideas my self, but the last one of those pics is my favorite.
I could imagine myself with that kind of outfit. So feminine  8)

I've always loved gothic lolita - my first big challenge shortly after I started dressing en femme full-time was going to Japan for a month, en femme the whole trip. I spent a lot of time in Harajuku, and it was one of the most thrilling experiences in my short life so far. Most of the clothes I got there are old and messed up now, but I'm about to get a new set at Retroscope Fashions. :)

Hiya!

I don't do Lolita myself, but I do costuming and conventions all the time. There's a couple of good books you can check out (Gothic and Lolita by Masayuki Yoshinaga, the Gothic & Lolita Bible. There's also an anime magazine (I think it's Shojo Beat) that always features a section on gothic/lolita. (I work in a bookstore, does it show?)

Ebay usually has TONS of cheap costume stuff, and there's a couple other websites you can check out too. Cosworx.com is a cool site for wigs and accessories, and Cosplay.com is a HUGE database of people in all kinds of costumes. It's great for ideas and inspiration! They've got everything from Star Trek to Anime! I love 'em lots!

Let us know when you've got pics! Good luck!
