I'm heading to the doctors tomorrow to meet up with a hormone specialist. I have to ask questions but I have no idea what to ask since I know what the changes are. Can anyone help me with some questions? >-<

I have some questions about this as well, but personally I plan to inform the doctor first that I fully know what the effects and changes are, so that he knows I'm not just going into it blind. I think that if you show you have knowledge of the subject, have done research, and are able to present that fact, they (they being doctors, physicians, psychologists, etc...) tend to react much better than someone who comes in and talks about getting hormones.

I know as far as prescribing hormones, i had to see a therapist for about 6 months, then she sent a letter to the Dr. where i was going that I was diagnosed with GID.  It give an indept look at my adolescent (formative yrs) to present which clearly showed that not just based on a sexual inherit-ant trait, but gender identity was  that of the opposite sex.  I was also intersexed, so that also impacted the conclusion.  The Dr. already knew my background and diagnosis b4 my appointment, so there was no need for me to inform him on my knowledge or to convince.

I am not sure what your full story is but just basic questions on hormones I could offer.

Injectable or Oral form of estrogen? Injectable can speed the process up a bit though results when all is said and done will be the same.

Progesterone? I actually talked with my doctor yesterday about this and she said she usually waits for a year on HRT to see if breast development is adequate and if not would prescribe it. Although she said I will give it to you now but it may not help you outside of being bloated and bitchy (her words).

Also, if you haven't started facial hair removal you might as your doctor about that. I found out that they do laser hair removal right there in the same place I get my hormones and general care from.

I was actually going to start a thread about hints and tips for beginnings and one of the points was to start IPL/laser/electro as early as possible.. even make it the first thing you do (well as soon as you know you are committed to your path).
I started IPL around the same time as HRT and I regret not starting it earlier. It so gets in the way and is such a hassle when you're out and about. When you're full time a clear face adds so much to your self confidence. So getting as much done as pos pre-RLT the better.

I'm an FTM. My DR told me to come back with questions but being me - a bad communicator, anti- social, quiet, and shy one. I usually have nothing to ask.

How is that IPL going for you anyway because I got IPL like a year and a half before I even planned to transition something like (Even if I don't transition I will afford myself this)

but I wasn't that impressed with the IPL results. I know that my facial hair is extremely vigorous, But what happened with me was I did experience alot of shedding and thinning while I was on the course of treatments and after 6 treatments I was down to about 20% density.

But as soon as I stopped getting the monthly treatments and waited 3 months the facial hair just regenerated back up to about 70% of where I started from. It was just ugh completely mortifying.

My doctor told me and prefer to take estrofem, but it is difficult to find it in my country, so the doctor gave the replace one, as known as progynova  (17B estradiol valerate) , because only this one can easily find in my country.  What do you think guys?

I take Progynova, it's essentially the same as Estrofem (which I've also taken), the only difference is that one is the drug you want and the other is metabolized into the drug you want, but the end results pretty much the same, and they're considered pretty much interchangeable.
