Had my sixth laser session today.   Not too bad at all.   My top lip was the worst area particularly under my nostrils.

My aesthetic nurse thinks that's it for the moment.   I may need a touch up in about nine months (probably on my top lip).

I am told that I should expect the normal shedding in a couple of weeks.   I may see some regrowth but that should fall out in about 12 weeks.   The nurse explained that it is my body trying to replace the destroyed hair but it will be so weak that it will not be sustainable.

I would be interested if anyone else has been told something similar.   My nurse has been accurate with everything so far aout my treatment.

They are going to send me some before and after photos.   If they do I will post them.

Hi I am new to the forum, and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Christy E and gonna start laser soon. Give me some rough pricing that I am looking at....

Pricing varies from system. I paid £650 for six sessions to clear my full face.  I believe that the cost of individual sessions was about £130.   In US dollars the six sessions was roughly $1000.

I was lucky, I have dark hair and fair skin, so the six sessions may well be enough.   I am told however, that I may need a touch up session in about nine months.   Lighter hair may well take more sessions.  Hair without pigment won't be affected by laser and electrolysis may be needed to get rid of them.

I have just done my 5th and paid for a package of 6 treatments for $1000.  It is a nice spa like atmosphere with a great open and caring person.

I still feel like I am just not getting there though.  It has been about a week and I am waiting for the 2 week point when most of the hair falls out.  I am scared that it will never go away enough that I am not shaving everyday.  Especially the Gray hairs, but at least they don't show up very well.  I am moving to China after my trip to Thailand in a month and I have no idea of what to expect in China for laser treatments.  At least I will be closer to Thailand and a plane ticket only cost about $200 round trip.

I hope this helped some. It helped me to vent.

Yes girl, U helped me. I live in NC/USA. I have a coupon for a laser center in Raleigh, NC worth 300 bucks. The more I have to shave, the more I hate facial hair....I cant imagine what it would feel like not to have to shave before doing my make-up....I'm such a perfectionist that I shave so close and then irratation comes....Anyway, good luck in China....Christy

I am to the point where I am still shaving but at least it is quick and I do it in the shower when I do my legs.  Its not a big deal but I am tired of it still.  I have patchiness now and that looks weird.
Good luck.

heh.

I've had my upper lip lasered like 18 times. Full face has been something like 14? It'll be 3 years in August. I'm doing electrolysis now.

I had a period recently where I didn't shave my face for over two months, but hair started growing back in again. I desperately need another facial laser, I'm even seeing hair on my neck for the first time in over a year.

Not fun. I'm on HRT.

Autumn... that's a real bummer. I'm sorry for you. :(

I've never heard of what your nurse is describing.

I've had 10 laser treatments (as of January 20th) and I still have a lot of growth on my lip and chin. But I've also been told I have unusually thick facial hair even by male standards, so I guess it's not that surprising. I did a lot of research into who to see and which equipment works best and selected quite carefully.

I'm done with laser and going to electrolysis as soon as I find a trustworthy one in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. I feel like I've wasted a lot of time and money. Considering I have so little money to begin with, that makes me a little bitter.

I have to admit after doing all my research I finally thought that laser was the best route, but I think the results vary from person to person, and from laser nurse to laser nurse.  I look in the mirror today after week from my 5th treatment and think well it is a lot less than 6 months ago, but patchy.  Maybe a mix of laser and electroysis is the answer.  Zap as much as you can in the first 6 treatments and then maybe follow up with electroysis on the hard to get ones.  I have no idea.  The equipments seems to always be changing.  I think my laser lady had one of the latest ones.  I have no idea of what I am going to get in China.  Will it be the same machines, what will it cost, do they speak english...... it goes on.  I know these are not your problems, but we all have the cost issue to go up against.  I just thought spending $1000 bucks I would be done with it except for some follow up maintenance.  Well I still have one more treatment before Thailand and eventually China.
Thanks guys,

Oh I know results vary from person to person. I've seen other people get much better results than I have. It's just... highly disappointing. I have ideal skin color and hair color. I hope things work out for you in Thailand and China. ;)

$1000 and done... god I wish. I've already spent $2000. xD My cheeks aren't even fully clear. Much better, but still not as good as I was even expecting, which wasn't unreasonable.
