All over Youtube people seem to be wondering. Im not sure what the current rumour is. But I was wondering if any of you thought she is. And if she is not, why did she do that?- (The concert where she puts her leg over a motorbike and shows what looks like a penis.) People are still looking at it as something she has to defend herself over. Like in one interview when asked if she had a Penis? She replied "My Vagina is offended by that question."

QuoteIn biology, "hermaphrodite" means an organism that has both "male" and "female" sets of reproductive organs (like snails and earthworms). In humans, there are no actual "hermaphrodites" in this sense, although doctors have called people with intersex conditions "hermaphrodites" because intersex bodies do not neatly conform to what doctors define as the "normal" male or female bodies.

We find the word "hermaphrodite" misleading, mythologizing, and stigmatizing. Although some intersex activists do reclaim and use this term to describe themselves, it is not an appropriate term to refer to intersex people in general. In short, snails are the hermaphrodites; humans are not.

Also, please avoid using the word "intersexual" as a noun; we prefer "intersex people" or "people with intersex conditions/experiences."

Neither, just biologically female from the start.

Just like what the media said about Richard Gere. Lots of stupidity there, but good for a laugh once in a while.

What?  The thing about the gerbil, or the vicious rumor that he could act?

I'll say it:

and:

Non of your (ours) damn business!

Well its not like some of her costume/fashion choices don't draw attention to the area - so if she's dressing like that for pay (fortune and fame), then yeah, we can talk about it.  Kinda the same way that if you don't want men staring down your blouse all day and talking to your tits, you don't wear something with a plunging low cut neckline.

Sex is a huge part of what she is selling.  So it is kinda relevant to the issue.

Seriously?  This rumor is as old as my grandmother.

I also believe that she went to Convent of the Sacred Heart in New York and the nuns would not want a penis person in that school.

All of this is just a smear to try to get back at her for her outspoken and unabashed support of the gay community.

And its not exactly like the comments on Utube are left by the more literate and informed among the human race either.

I don't listen to her music and scarcely even know what she looks like.

Even my periphery she's almost completely a non-entity to me.

This.  Agreed completely.

So why did you post?

Her bio is very interesting

Now I'm kind of an exception with the people I work with in that I actually like dance music.  But even the people who hate dance music who have worked her shows here agree, she's the real deal.  It's all her.  Her music, her production, her fashion - like Madonna, she is in total control of her career in every aspect.

To date (or at least as of last week) Lady Gaga has posted worldwide for sales of 10,000,054 copies.  Fame Monster indeed.

She's worked her ass off for over ten years to get to be the person that everyone is talking about.  It's called Fame, and its the most addictive drug you'll ever get close to.

That's the problem right there. The idea that just because someone gets paraded around on tv and elsewhere that people should waste their lives worrying about it. I have an idea: why don't people get a life and....I don't know..actually worry about things that matter. Ya know...things that actually have a direct effect on their lives?

Ya know...things that actually have a direct effect on their lives?

Her shows in the Bay Area this year and last put over $1,200 bucks in my pocket for three days work in total.  That's a pretty direct effect.

And to the degree that she is making music, she is creating culture - and we all have a stake in that.  And how nice to make money doing something that brings some beauty, some joy, or at least a little dance into people's lives.  I'm constantly inspired by people who work hard to achieve what they want and find in life in doing that.  That's why I posted the bio, because it's obvious that this is not a flash in the pan deal, and she is hardly a one-hit-wonder overnight success.

Its music, and lots of people here like music to some degree.  The two most popular threads at Susan's have to do with a song title game and 'what are you listening to now'.

It's also fashion and people here have an interest in that.  And, she is standing up for us.  Not a minor deal to me.  And I try to support people that support me.

It only effects you in the way that you mentioned because you work in the music industry. "Creating culture?" No. You do know that pop culture is completely disposable, right?

Not all of it.  All art was 'pop culture' at it's inception more or less.
