I guess this is long overdue, but I finally had the courage to come out to my mother a few days ago about me being transgendered. I am currently 19 with a loving partner to support me through it all. I have had a rough life and to be honest telling my mother was one of the hardest thing I've ever had to do. But it was a step forward I needed to take. I still have many questions and concerns I hope can be answered here.

I hope to learn many things from being here that can help me through my transition.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

Welcome to Susan's, Lily.

The first steps are often the hardest.  Coming out to family is often the hardest.  There will be plenty of bumps on the road, but it sounds like you've already done two of the hardest things.

You'll find plenty of good people and good information here.  Pull up a keyboard and explore.
