so today the coolest thing happened, i'm basically out to friends and family unofficially, but they know. i dress in front of them and present as female sometimes, and when i don't i dress VERY androgynous. so anyway, we went to the mall today and we're walking and an employee walks past us and says "hello ladies." then she quickly corrected herself and said "uh, sir." hahahaha, it made me smile! i'm thinking, if i had shaved today, maybe she wouldn't have corrected herself? i really don't know if it's something to be excited about, but i guess i give off a female vibe and presence?

anyway just wanted to share!

How nice for you.  I know the feeling.  You just want to hug them. ;D

I love it when it happens to me!! Now they don't correct themselves unless the look right at me because they see me as female and just go on. Oh yes, I'd be excited about it!! Absolutely giddy.

You just reminded me - I was in a gay bar last week with my husband (so wasn't trying too hard to pass) and best friend and got a "hey boys!" from the (incredibly hot) waiter. I was practically giddy. It's an awesome feeling, isn't it? Congrats drip.

Haha yes, that's exactly what it feels like. To actually hug them may be a bit emberassing though :)

thanks everyone for your responses.. it was really awesome. after the woman walked away my mum said, "even with the s beard?!" jokingly because she was shocked that the woman had thought  i was a girl at first glance. (not that my mum cares, she's very non chalant about the whole thing.) i was actually going to buy material and a pattern for a blouse i had to make in my sewing class and my mum said "what size do you need?" and i said "well, i don't know..." (even though i did) and she said "well is it for you?" but very, very casually. i think shes hinting for me to tell her because afterall it must kill her to know i'm keeping something from her. even though i think she has a pretty good idea.. but i will tell her when i'm ready to go fulltime. for now, i'll keep her scratching her head ;)
