You can get it from Walgreens.

You can buy DHEA in Wal-Mart for goodness' sake.

I'm on 50mg a day in my general vitamin mix, I think I've heard of people going a little bit kooky on 200mg a day and up.

Short of going on T, heavy weight-bearing exercise, training for mass, is the most masculinizing thing I've experienced. Funny, now that I'm on T my exercise is aimed toward ability, flexibility, and endurance, since my old mass training makes me too friggin huge.

Oh, another thing. I've been using rogaine on my face for a couple of weeks, so I don't know whether it's dhea or that or a combo, but I am growing dark hairs on my upper lip. They're very short right now because I just shaved, but they're there. I think it's a little too early for the rogaine to be kicking in, am I right?

I started dhea a little over a week ago and I've noticed the past few days that my nipples have been hurting whenever they're touched.  Could that mean the dhea is converting to estrogen in me?  I mean, I *might* just be nearing that time of the month (mine are so irregular I never know), but it's got me a little worried.

If it's alright, then you're all wrong.

Pain/tenderness/general weirdness in that tissue can happen with any hormonal change. Estrogen and progesterone levels are actually at their lowest just before the bleeding time (when we tend to have all the hormonal symptoms) so having hormonal symptoms could mean you have less of a hormone just as easily as it could indicate an excess.

Thanks.  I also did some more research on it this time looking for things unrelated to the dhea.  I stopped taking birth control pills like three or four weeks ago and apparently that can cause really sore nipples, too.  So that might be it, too.

It would be great if dhea could help stop the bleeding...

I'm just glad the T does. After my hysto tomorrow, I will be happier knowing it can never happen again.

I've been on it for over a month, and though I havn't noticed huge changes, I've been feeling good on it.

I think my voice has dropped a little, but I havn't recorded it to compare at all. I've also noticed an increase of chin hair, and on my stomach.  Mostly I've just noticed more energy, and less depression.

best part though, monthly doom hasn't been as bad.  I have endometriosis, so often end up with severe i'm going to pass out cramps, and that has definitely improved..

I've been taking DHEA for nearly two weeks. Today, my vocal range shifted a half octave lower (at least, I became aware of it today), although my normal speaking voice remained pretty much the same. I noticed it when I was singing in the car, I was suddenly able to hit the low register notes I could never hit before. The high notes I could hit before are still somewhat attainable, but harder to sing.

Frankly I don't know for sure if it's the DHEA or something else, but it's an interesting coincidence. I'm thrilled but also unnerved, maybe I'll ease up until I can get another medical check-up.

I've been on it about three and a half weeks and just today I noticed my face was all of a sudden REALLY greasy-- like a layer of grease that stained my shirt when I wiped it off.  I've never had that happen before.  The funny thing is I haven't taken it for three days since I'm taking my week off.

Also, does anyone have any advice about cycling it with my "cycle"?  I'm on the red death this week and I chose this week to take off of the DHEA.  Is that a bad idea based on the natural hormones my body is producing?  I don't really know how that all works.

are you guys who are taking DHEA.. are you talking to doctors about it, or just taking it?

can I be on birth control.. and take it?
  •

M.Grimm

I was taking it on my own to see if it was a snake oil placebo or something that would have an effect. It seems to be having an effect so I'm going to talk to my doctor about it soon.

I don't know how it'll interact with one's body during the monthly or how it might deal with the hormones that birth control pills introduce. I'd definitely talk to your doctor before trying it, if you're on medication already.

I noticed this week new sideburn hair has come in.  It still looks like really long slightly thicker peach fuzz and is kind of straggly looking, but I'm thinking, yes!  It wasn't there before.  And yeah, this stuff WILL make your face greasy.

I agree with M.Grimm Elijah. Ask your doctor about that. Introducing extra female hormones while trying to boost natural male hormones could cause a world of hurt with hormone imbalances.

Got my lab results back today.  The DHEA. is. working!  I had my hormones tested a few months ago, and testosterone was at 22.  January, I started taking DHEA.  Today it was almost 40 points higher, at 60!  Estrogen was up about 13 points but I can live with that.  I'm thrilled with that testosterone number though!!!

Maybe or maybe not. I started using it when I was 16 and got some noticable growth by a couple months in. But it all came in like peach fuzz, very soft, so I had to dye it. I just started using a natural thickening thing on my face in addition to the rogaine and it's so far turned some of the hair thicker. My hair is naturally very soft and fine, though. I only got growth on my sideburns and sides of my face, although I used it on my whole face. Since the face is made of skin that easily absorbs things...the rogaine we put on our face is carried to other parts of the body and I noticed after a few months my arm hair grew a bit and I got a small happy trail. Now I'm using rogaine on my happy trail, to grow that out too. Haha.

Previously, I had a little patch of actual whisker hairs right under my chin, the area was maybe the size of a U.S. half dollar coin. I now have very fine whiskers coming in all along the underside of my chin/jaw area. If I don't shave it off for a couple of days I can feel rather genteel stubble.

I'm wondering if it's the DHEA, which I've been using regularly, or my minimal exposure to some Andractim. I'm not sure I've used enough of the latter for it to do much, but perhaps it's some combination of the two.
