Hi,

I am just wondering how did you hide the changes that occured with hrt while at work and initially from friends & family in the summer.

Have many people been successful at this or after a few months on hormones does it become impossible?

The breasts are the big give away I think.

Binding and loose tops seem to work. Can't do much about the facial changes, but they should be rather minor in the first few months.

Some people reach a point where they just can't pass as a guy. Others don't have much trouble. Bit random really. More than likely by the time a year rolls round you will look pretty fem.

It is easier to hide if people see you all the time, they just don't notice the changes as much. But for those you see infrequently they will see it.

I'm not gonna have a chance in hell of hiding much of anything when summer comes  >:-)

But I'm okay with that... I'm rather proud of the developments that have occurred over this winter  :icon_chick:

My only plan is to buy some new tank tops to ride my bike and garden in

I was able to hide the first summer with loose shirts. But, the problem was people poking me in the chest that first year. As you well may know or soon will your breasts are very tender. I remember walking with my arms in front of them to protect them from being bump and that got people wondering after awhile.

If you just started HRT you will be soon be occupied with the other stuff that will be happening to you like the changes in your awareness and how you view the world.

If they genuinely haven't guessed by then I will just tell them they are pecs I'm not going to force them to accept what's clearly 'up' with me.

There is one boy who I know is kind and really respects me and everyone else dosen't like cuz he's abit dim and bless him he is as thick as a brick, I think I'm going to have tell him.

I was presenting male the entire time but I would have to wear a sports bra, a tshirt/tank top, a button up/sweeater and then a jacket/hoody -

How did you survive in such weather? did anyone suspect anything?

I used to do this as well. The trick is to avoid staying outside as much as possible (I live in Florida and it gets so hot and humid in the summer!)

It's also very hot where I live in Australia in Summer.

All i can say is that this summer is going to be interesting. Will be next to impossible to hide anything from anybody. All i can suggest is loose and baggy clothes.

I don't think such changes should be hidden! They have been choosen and fought for. In my opinion I think they should be shown and maybe used to step up abit :p
They represent what we choose, what we are and what we are fighting for and our options should be the opposite of hiding but making people around us to know who we are and that they will have to live with it either they like it or not.
But I guess we all have different ideas :)
But the fact some could lose their jobs for it sucks... I wouldnt care anyways and just find an employer that doesnt cares either. Sometimes I wish we would live in a fairy tale :)

Ah.  By the looks of the A shirt, you should not be a lesbian.  They have been called a "wife beater shirt".

Oh I am a bad girl. :icon_redface:.

Hide any changes, while I was at work?  Not one thing was hidden except my breasts that were made out of two sponges, eventually my breasts grew as a result of HRT and one day I forgot to put my sponges in and did not notice until after I arrived at work (well I did have some breasts which could easily be hidden with one hand).

Needless to say nobody even noticed and virtually soon after this incident, I never bothered with my two sponges ever again.

Basically I changed my gender straight away.  I got in contact with a personal consultant told him about me (over the phone and I did not tell him my old name), he said not to worry about that or my referees, I faxed him my resume with my new name and two weeks later I had a job as a female, working in a large engineering firm as a contractor doing a multi million dollar sub division.

So lets put this in another way, I never changed my gender while at work and in fact it actually presented me with the least hassles ever.  Which brings me to this question or conundrum.  In all my travels, I have never came across any other girl that changed in a similar way.  It seems that I'm unique in that sense and it is starting to bug me.

Kind regards
Sarah B
PS I owe this personal consultant a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid for what he was able to do for me.

well this post really brings in some really old memories :) i was hiding myself all through high school, and the weather is somewhat like florida only with really really really long summers. back then there air conditioners weren't common in schools, but the worst is the pt courses where you got to jump and run in the 10 o'clock sun.

sarahc: if you're really going to do this then be prepared for a ->-bleeped-<- summer. prep binders, thick baggy shirts of dark colors, and cut your hair into some sterotypical male style (US presidents are good references). wear nerdy looking superman's glasses and talk like you've got a blocked nose. and golden rule #1: stay low profile and try not to draw attention to yourself.

and you'll be glad when you don't have to hide anymore...now i feel summers are a lot cooler than before!

Your have the opposite problem to me! I wish I had those changes but after more than a decade on oestrogen I have to hide the bits I think look male.

Basically I have not built up the courage to yet and I am quite a shy person.

I was on hormones for a few weeks but had to stop for a few reasons. It hurts not being able to take them at the moment and cannot wait to restart them at the end of the month, but in my company I want to hide the changes.
I don't want to delay them any longer as I am 26 and want the best possible changes.

Thans for the replys.
