DINOSAURS.

I was obsessed with dinosaurs, and anything related to dinosaurs.

Don't be scared to fly alone, find a path that is your own
Love will open every door it's in your hands, the world is yours
Don't hold back and always know, all the answers will unfold
What are you waiting for, spread your wings and soar

I think I had a lot of phases... The one I remember most clearly: Star Wars. I was five when Phantom Menace came out, I'd never even heard of Star Wars before, but for some reason, as soon as I heard about the movie I was hell-bent on going to see it. It was the first movie I ever saw in theatre, and I loved it. My mom made me this Anakin costume for Halloween that I would've worn every day if she'd let me.
I'm still kinda obsessed with Star Wars...  8)
Ooh, and horses. I was totally horse obsessed, it was probably my most feminine feature as a kid.

Toys I could stack.
Cartoons (they were better when I was growing up than they are now, or I'd still be watching cartoons.)
Anatomy of various species.
Also played a lot of video games. Pokemon, I memorized all of it most likely.

Well Star Wars was an obsession or a fantasy as a child. But since I saw a Tie Fighter in Lismore, New South Wales it became too real for me. I always believed that maybe the Movie could be an inspiration to make the real thing.

Have You Americans made Tie Fighters for real or was I hallucinating or something?
Because Im sure its only a movie in this part of the Galaxy!

My other obssesion was playing with my sisters dolls. Boy would they get angry when they found I had been playing with their Barbie dolls.

Heh, I can relate. I recently had this phase of thinking I wanted to be a pilot- this was abruptly brought to an end when in a moment of clarity I realized that what I really want is to fly Star Wars or Firefly style spaceships, and aeroplanes would be totally dissatisfying... *Sigh*  ::)

Thanks for relating. It would be a dream to fly a Star Wars ship. And Firefly is pretty cool too.

My obsession was getting friends because I didn't have any....it was a secret obsession. Legos, so I could build and pretend to have the things my parents couldn't afford. Drawing, so I could dream of a better life.

At seven I declared I wanted to be an adult. I was focused on surviving, and being a child was too dependent, and unproductive. I did read adventure novels - Admiral Hornblower was my hero.

^ Yeah, this. Legos were a great way to have, at least for a while, that which I didn't.
