Hey everyone,

Just found this forum and looks nice and friendly, as i sure need help ..  LOL

Im a UK gal or more like think im a girl but really tried to ignore it and not accept it, but few years ago I did, told my GF (but no one else!) and start to buy some fem clothes and every few weekends go out shopping fem with her.  (She was shocked, rather me not do it but understands i cant really stop and so said she will support me what ever) .. now my feelings are getting stronger still and thinking of seeing my local GP/Doctor regarding hormones etc..  but so embarrassed about doing so..
I guess this is a usual story for many..

Welcome aboard.
First step if you want hormones is to read the WPATH SOC. You need to go to a therapist for a while before you can ask a doctor for HRT.

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Seek out a proper gender therapist who is well recieved by the local trans comunity where you are at. Such a therapist will not be judgmental about your personal isues. It is thier job to help you.

Welcome to Susan's, Kara.  :icon_flower:

There's a lot of good information and good people here.  Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common.  Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.

Be sure to look under the Announcements heading.  There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours:
Look through the other stuff there, too.

The first steps are the hardest.  You've already come out to your GF and introduced yourself here, so you've taken some big steps already.

Happy exploring. :icon_wave:

Hi Kara, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 4400 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

You will find that we are a great bunch here.  And we will help you go in the right directions.

Hugs and Love,
Janet

Glad to see you have a supportive girlfriend, and hopefully you will be very happy together as you accept a new gender identity.  I agree with other posters that a good therapist can help you greatly when it comes to hormones and other transitioning issues.

having someone who loves you and supports you is an amazing thing, my girlfriend is trying to be as supportive as possible herself.
